    The Stinking Rose

Garlic is also known as "the stinking rose," a term reportedly going back to Greek and Roman times. And OH how I love garlic! Here's a large and widely varied collection of garlic recipes that look delicious. Although there are a very small number included that use dried/granulated/powdered garlic, most of these recipes use fresh garlic. Enjoy! Please sort these recipes as (via the pulldown menu or sidebar) to what you would like to view best - either those I've most recently added or those which are most "highest rated" or "vegetarian" or whatever. There are an awful lot of options here. It's up to you.

This is an awesome tasting salad!!! It definetly has a strong garlic taste but I love garlic and if you do you must try this salad. It goes great with grilled steaks or any barbecue. The recipe is from Doc's Steakhouse in Wichita, KS. I got the recipe out of the Monkey Island (Okla) Volunteer Fire Department Cookbook. This recipe was submitted by Claudine Nugen.

Enriched with low-fat buttermilk and reduced-fat mayonnaise, this thick, garlicy dressing makes a sumptuous topping for potato, pasta or romaine salads.

A friend made this at a get-together and it quickly disappeared and was on high demand, so she gave me this recipe. Great if you like garlic! (NOTE: This IS a garlic recipe and has a strong garlic taste!)

Whenever I ask what I should bring to a gathering, this is always requested! It goes well with EVERYTHING! Steak, hamburgers, chicken, pork, on sandwiches, in potato salad, on sausages (brats, dogs, polish), and on fries. It keeps well in the fridge for about a week.

    Recipe #31987

Adapted from a Thai peanut sauce recipe for a friend who was allergic. Added cornstarch to thicken, in place of 1/4C peanut butter, and ginger/honey vinegar for zip.

You can experiment with different vinegars with this dressing, to achieve different tastes. I use 2 garlic cloves, but 1 also works nicely. Sometimes I toss some fresh parsley into the food processor as well.

    Recipe #44957

Lightly sweet and savoury with a delicate but addicting flavor. The original recipe called for currants and almonds, but since I didn't have either, I came up with this winning variation. Prep time doesn't include soaking the cranberries or refrigeration.

    Recipe #83761

From Aglaia Kremezi. Serve on grilled fish, rabbit, or chicken. 4-day standing time.
