    Superb Soups

Mmmm....hot soup on a chilly might. Cold soup on a blistering day. Tepid soup when your family doesn't come to the table when you call them.

After a recent trip to San Francisco I decided to make a few adjustments to my recipe and post it. I get a lot of requests for this recipe. I use it on my catering menu as well. This recipe uses canned clams, I use fresh when making it for myself but this is much easier and faster.

    Recipe #211623

Fast, easy and good. Recipe by Giada De Laurentis, host of Everyday Italian. I make this whenever I need a quick and light dinner or lunch. Great with crusty bread and a caesar salad.

    Recipe #178983

This is by far my favorite ever recipe for clam chowder. I always replace my salad with a cup of this. I was shocked that nobody had posted it.

    Recipe #205976

A nice creamy soup. I make this in the summer when the tomatoes are really fresh from the Farmer's Market (canned is ok). The dried tomatoes add another depth to this soup.

    Recipe #36267

Another "to try" recipe that I found in a magazine. Looks interesting.

    Recipe #225016

This is flavorful, spicy and moist chicken soup. Far from the chicken soup I grew up with which was bland and dry. It has a thin potato base which is comforting.

    Recipe #107785

    Delicious and very easy.

    Recipe #72729

I had 20lbs of Vidalia onions and a flavor in my mind. Sweet onions, sharp cheddar, and the richness of homemade chicken stock. Mmmm. DH had seconds. The 15yo had 3rds. Use as a side dish or, with bread and salad, as a light meal in its own right.

    Recipe #219884

Chicken soup with feta cheese, tomato and spinach. A VERY healthy and tasty soup.

    Recipe #151155

from Gourmet Magazine, December 2003. Very rich - small servings are quite appropriate. The use of FF half and half reduces it to a mere 1 WW point per serving.

    Recipe #201878

    A hearty delicious soup.

    Recipe #20379

Beer - it's not just for drinking any more!

    Recipe #21220

I used Italian turkey sausage, and turkey bacon. I also added 1/2 tsp hot pepper flakes.

    Recipe #9782

    Recipe #84861

Made this last night, It's very filling and rich, If you want it even richer and don't care about the carb increase use Half-and-Half in place of the milk--it's great either way.

    Recipe #195554

My mom started making this soup after finding it in a magazine (?), but I made a few adaptions and here it is!

    Recipe #71085

I made this soup recently it's delicious! You can make this in a crock pot but you will have to brown the meat with veggies firstly in a skillet. Double the recipe if desired. The ground beef can be made ahead of time, if you have freezer-ready ground beef, even easier! Feel free to adjust ALL ingredients to suit taste. You can really use any kind of pasta that you like for this, I prefer spaghetti, for a thicker soup decrease the water.

    Recipe #139527

I found this on the TOH site and it has quickly become a favorite of my family's. Add a salad and a warm loaf of sourdough and it's perfect comfort food! I generally make the roux and then throw everything in my crockpot to simmer for a couple of hours. I use a cup of the buffalo sauce and 8 oz of Velvetta and it turns out just right for us.

    Recipe #109295

I originally got this recipe from the Copycat web site. It is supposed to be a copy of Red Lobster's clam chowder. After making it I think it is better than theirs.

    Recipe #89451
