    Thigh (Chicken) Recipes

Most of the chicken recipes in my collection are for breasts, but I usually end up making them with a combination of breast (for hubby) and thigh meat (for me). Here are a few recipes which specify thighs.

My friend Alison doesn't think she can cook, but she had me over one night for dinner and fixed this wonderful meal, thus proving herself very wrong. It's very hearty and the flavours get even better the next day. Since I'm allergic to shrimp she left it out for me, and I don't make the dish with shrimp either, but this is the recipe as she gave it to me in it's entirety. Goes very well with a loaf of crusty bread.

This recipe is a dramatic modification of an Asian Grilled Chicken recipe I found on Yahoo Health. It's spicy and delicious. I originally made it with chicken thighs but it also works with chicken breasts. Sid dishes I have had it with are asparagus, grilled brussels sprouts, curry couscous and rice pilaf. 5 minutes to prepare, 30 minutes to marinate. "Mmmm, those are great thighs!"

    Recipe #107606

Just like hot buffalo wings but with more meat! Adjust the "heat" according to your preference.

    Recipe #45329

These are really tasty, and easy to make, too. :) Prep time is the chilling in the fridge.

    Recipe #32422

This is a quick and easy recipe that never fails to please even my picky DDs. Since chicken thighs are usually inexpensive it makes a economical meal. I like to serve these with some type of rice side dish and a green salad.

I like using balsamic vinegar in my cooking, and this recipe is no exception: You can substitute chicken breasts, but I'd advise against it -- The thighs are higher in fat, but taste much better. Note: Very good over cooked rice.

This recipe was in my Southern Living 2003 Annual cookbook. I am posting it for a request for thighs. This is melt in your mouth good. I am amazed at how well it turned out. Delicious!!!

    Recipe #77031

One of the recipes that I adopted...looks like a winner to me!

Here is a fast microwave chicken dish. It takes no time to prepare and is on the table in less than 30 minutes. This is good cold as well.

This recipe came to me by way of the Zaar recipe adoption in February 2005. I've made a few changes to the ingredient list and streamlined the instructions. It is delicious served over pasta.

    Recipe #7690

For subtle variation, add some fresh herbs or spicy paprika. Simple and delicious. Turns out perfect every time. The flavour comes from the combination of bread crumbs and potato flakes.

    Recipe #86940

This recipe uses classic flavorings for chicken. This particular recipe is of french origin.

    Recipe #85548

The lime and cilantro and a very fresh taste to this curry. I like it served over rice. A wok works well to make this in (of course, I think a wok works well to make everything in).

    Recipe #29920

Based on a Cooking Light recipe, this has been modified to suit my own tastes. The sweet onions and balsamic vinegar create a lovely contrast in flavors that pair together so well. I usually serve this with couscous or brown rice with a green vegetable such as zucchini or spinach. Reheats well for lunch the next day.

    Recipe #107384

A good alternative to fried chicken. Prep time does not include the time to marinade. Serving size is for 2 small thighs each.

    Recipe #45247

I got this recipe from my friend Kasey a long time ago (I have adjusted the spices to my taste) and it is very easy--even for those that just can't seem to get basmati rice to cook "just right". So long as you cover the baking dish tightly with foil, it will not fail! I brought this to a pot-luck at work one day and ever since this dish was always requested by everyone at all of our potlucks.***I am cutting the salt to around half since there are quite a few reviews saying it is too salty. I don't measure the spices when I cook so I think I guessed the amount wrong.*** *** the cinnamon amount should be 1/2 tsp to 3/4 tsp only, not 2 teaspoons. I have tried changing it twice now and get email confirmation that the changes have been approved but it still says 2 tsp of cinnamon.

    Recipe #105104

Tender chicken-very flavorful sauce. Hope you like it.
