Courtesy of bellaonline.com Rugelach are a cross between a cookie and a little rolled up pastry. These pastries are now mainstream, and come with a myriad of fillings, including many that include jam and finely chopped nuts. The dough is traditionally cream cheese dough, which some believe to have been developed in the U.S. by the Philadelphia Cream Cheese company. This recipe uses a chocolate chip, walnut and cocoa filling, this recipe will take some time, because the dough needs to chill, and then rolled out, and cut.

These cookies are similar to Peanut Butter Blossoms, but are cherry cookies instead of peanut butter. I like to make them for Valentine's Day-- and call them Valentine Kisses. There are many variations-- you can use make the dough and use white or semi-sweet chocolate chips or use mini-kisses for smaller bite size cookies. The dough can be rolled in plain sugar, or red decorator sugar for an extra festive look.

Impressive — and a breeze to put together. The bombe is just a layering of purchased ice cream, sorbet and cookies, and it's topped off with a store-bought fudge sauce spruced up with chocolate chips and brandy. For Valentine's Day, dress up the dessert even more with chocolate curls and maraschino cherries. Begin preparing this a day ahead as this needs to freeze for 24 hrs.

This is a light, textured cheesecake. For Valentine’s Day, I bake it in a heart shaped pan.

Did you need a choice? Turn this into a smoothie at serving time by running it in the blender again OR scrape up spoonfuls into pretty serving dishes and drizzle with more WINE or gingerale. Either way--this is sure to capture your Valentine's heart! Just watch out for those brain-freeze headaches!!! COOKING TIME = CHILLING TIME.

This is so pretty! Make this for your Valentine and make them feel special with this delicious treat! Cherry and pineapple whipped up into a beautiful concoction, served right in it's own heart! This calls for a quarter cup of maraschino cherry juice. I'm not sure how much there is in a jar of the cherries, but here's what I do. Make a simple syrup (recipe follows). You can add a little cherry extract, which you can find in the spice isle, and a few drops of red food coloring should do the trick! The amount will vary.

These are so neat! My sister sent me pictures of these, and they are just darling! She is making them for Valentine's Day with her grandkids. Really cute thing to do with kids. You could probably make things for other holidays such as little eggs for an Easter cone,or candy corn for a Thanksgiving cone! They're really easy and would take no time at all. Note** the amounts of M&M's are a guestimate. You can use more or less accordingly.
