Adapted from a recipe by wildcat at allrecipes.com. Very common in dim sum restaurants as a dessert. Original author's note: "Very easy to make Chinese style Egg Tart, you can put the leftovers in the refrigerator for later use for up to 3 days. You can reduce the sugar used on the crust and the filling to fit your taste, this recipe is lightly sweetened. If you want to you, can add more sugar to the filling. Hope you enjoy it!"
Are you tired of weepy, sticky meringue? This meringue will not let you down. It stands proud and adorns your favorite pie with a delicious mound of delicate meringue. The cook time does not reflect the time to cool the cornstarch mixture. This recipe is from one of my all time favorite cookbooks-- More Make-A-Mix Cookery,
I located this recipe in my local grocery store (Hannaford) sale circular. I plan on making this for Easter Sunday dessert so am posting on Zaar for safe keeping. It really sounds simple and delicious!
