I saw Melissa make these on the Next Food Network Star show and wanted to try these for my family. Quicker baking time with the smaller portions. NOTE: I layered the potatoes, cheese, seasonings and onion several times and cooked it closer to an hour in my oven.

    Recipe #385071

I love using my crock pot for those nights when I know I won't have time to make dinner, but I want to have dinner ready when someone walks through the door! When I made of this recipe, it just reminded me of Fall, thus the name!

Acorn, Butternut Squash and Parsnips Gratin

    Recipe #325

I was hungry today and I just happened to have all of these ingredients on hand. Feel free to substitute cheese and pita or even the veggies. This does not need to be specific.

    Recipe #302152

This is one of his recipes from the show The Chew. Quick and easy.

    Recipe #485874

Quick, simple, and easy to prepare. This is a great dish to bring to a potluck or cookout. It vanishes every time! I recommend tossing the dressing and ingredients with the lettuce and spinach right before serving.

    Recipe #60420

New York is apple country and this cake recipe is courtesy of the state's apple growers group. I am tucking it away to make for Thanksgiving but thought I would share it in the meantime. My own version will probably include less sugar as we don't like things quite so sweet. Please note the preparation time include an hour of soaking time.

    Recipe #227242

This is our fall favorite. Unfortunately our two apple trees are very early apples which cannot be stored for more than two or three weeks, so we have tons of apples which have to be eaten, canned, preserved or made into cake within a fortnight... I don't know where I got this recipe from, but I've made it for more then ten years now and no matter how many loaves I make, they vanish rapidly. Although I cannot eat this bread anyway, I make it gluten free, using gluten free cake flour mix. It works well with a mix of brown, white and sweet rice flour plus some arrowroot starch (just use your preferred gluten free cake flour mix), but making it gluten free means adding an egg or egg replacer, too, or it won't stick together. Prep time doesn't include overnight soaking time.

France and Mexico meet in this recipe. I've not tried brie cheese yet, so I'd like to try this sometime. For Zaar World Tour II 2006

    Recipe #171325

A favourite dessert of many. This makes good use of stale bread. Who knew that with such simple ingredients as bread, apples, butter, sugar…..you could make something so delicious and magnificent! It’s magic! When rhubarb replaces the apples, it is known as Blushing Betty! Another example of North American Colonial thrift!

This is a great Baklava recipe. A friend passed this along to me. I love the combo of apples and walnuts and is a favorite recipe when it's apple picking time. If you don't want to use rum; substitute 2 tablespoons lemon juice and 2 tablespoons lemon rind.

This apple and horseradish chutney, flavoured with smoked paprika, makes a seriously tasty relish.

If you like apple pancakes and you like bacon, you’ll love the taste of these sweet, smoky pancakes. Any kind of apple works well. A quick cider syrup drizzled on top enhances the apple flavor

    Recipe #460292

A quick, light lunch or a delicious snack. I never get tired of this combo!

    Recipe #218390

This is unusual but delicious. A tasty way to prepare butternut squash. I make a big batch of this on Sunday night and bring it to lunch all week. I cook the squash by halving a large one and roasting it in the oven at 350 degrees for about an hour. Let it cool and scrap out the delicious meat! Adapted from the classic Moosewood Cookbook.
