Grog came about when Admiral Sir Edward Vernon, while trying to cut costs and conserve supplies on the open sea, diluted the crew's rum with water. Eventually, the crew realized the drink tasted better served hot. For a more flavorful drink try this recipe using apple juice!
There are many hot chile pepper pastes used as table condiments in China and Southeast Asia; I used sambal oelek which is the most common and most popular. Containing chiles, salt, vinegar and sometimes garlic and tamarind, the fiery paste gives food a powerful flavor boost giving this Salmon recipe an Asian flair. Serve on a bed of greens to keep the carbs down or on a bed of rice.
I used Recipe #233331 for this recipe but you can use any store bought cherry syrups.
I used Recipe #187366 to coat the rim of the glasses for Halloween.

This is a cooling coffee drink that has a slight hint of heat! Chilis in small amounts stimulate circulation and the digestive processes. But when consumed in large amounts it will cause a cooling effect (so add the amount you like). This helps to explain why people living in hot tropical climates are apt to eat a lot of them. The cooling sensation is produced in two different ways. In one way the body (especially the face) starts to sweat; the more perspiration that gathers on the skin, the cooler a person will feel. The other way is through the release of endorphins by capsaicin into the bloodstream of people who eat them. These natural opiates in the brain affect the body’s own internal temperature, lowering it a few degrees. Made for RSC #10

After watching Zodiac I wanted to make the drink Aqua Velvet which they had drank in the movie. Not being able to find it I came up with this. This takes place in the late 1960's and through the 70's on the West coast.Where Polynesian food was popular in the 1960s and on....
So I figured it must be in the order of a Blue Hawaiian (popular then) adding the cream of coconut for the velvet.
Enjoy my take of a drink from Zodiac while watching it.
