Looking for a candy combo of chocolate, cranberry & cashew I caem across this recipe at candy.about.com, & it suited my needs perfectly! However, if your situation includes the bark sitting around a long time in warm temperatures, it's suggested that 'real' chopped chocolate be used & tempered so that it won't melt in the heat!
From my Best of Country Cooking Cookbook collection. This is my favorite cranberry dessert - I could eat the whole
pan myself! Fortunately, my family won't let me - they love them too!
Even my neighbor, who doesn't like cranberries, can't resist these bars.
I wasn't sure how bitter, raw cranberries could turn into this tart-sweet holiday treat. They would be great year-round; however, you must start with fresh cranberries. The following is the original recipe. I had a 7.5 oz pkg of organic cranberries, so I reduced everything by a third. I also only had the ground versions of the cinnamon and cloves. It stilled turned out great, but I would use the whole versions next time.
This is the best angel food cake! I imagine it would also work well with other types of berries too - fresh, frozen or dried. Be careful when separating the eggs, if you get one drop of yolk in the whites, it won't whip properly.
This is from the "Cranberry Festival Recipes"
booklet I picked up at the cranberry festival in Bordentown NJ (where one of the Ocean Spray facilities is located) many years ago. It was submitted by a woman from Vincetown NJ and is one of my favorite apple butters. I usually use the cranapple juice.
I got this idea from Steve1's Every Which Way Quick Bread, but made my own alterations from the base. This is so delicious and moist, and has the most amazing flavor! You won't be disappointed, I promise. Make sure you use orange juice CONCENTRATE, and not just orange juice!
After having something similar in a restaurant, I just had to start making these at home. Now I'm addicted! When they are in season, I substitute fresh blueberries and/or strawberries for the dried cranberries. Also delicious!
You'll find these bars at Starbucks during special holidays. The texture is like a chewy brownie, but the flavors include white chocolate, zesty orange, and cranberry, finished with a cream cheese frosting. NOTES - this recipe uses a 10x15 pan. One of the photos shows you how to make the right cuts to create signature triangle shapes.
Nov. 2013 note - the bars bought from Starbucks have gone down-hill this year with icing that is flavorless and no real ginger flavor to the bars. Skip Starbucks and make your own!
For Valentine's Day, I used a heart-shaped cookie cutter and tinted the icing pink. They were beautiful!
A wonderful bread made in the bread machine for any time of the year - but it is especially delicious on Christmas Morning, and throughout the festive period. I always make my famous "The Day after Christmas Sarnies" - Sandwiches - with this bread! (That recipe is also posted on RecipeZaar) I find it difficult to get hold of fresh cranberries where I live, so this recipe uses dried cranberries, but I am sure it would work equally as well with fresh ones too.
This sauce may be used to baste meats and poultry before grilling or roasting. I got this from the Shoalwater Restaurant in Seaview, Washington. Enjoy! You may easily half this recipe. You could make this in the crock pot, just cook on low for 2-4 hours.
A great cake for the fall cranberry season. I always have cranberries in the freezer (I stock up in the fall) and just thaw what I need for baking anytime of the year.
This cake can be glazed with your favorite sugar glaze, or make glaze with powdered sugar and orange juice.
I have made this for Christmas and also for Summer parties - it is delicious! It keeps in the fridge for up to a year (as I am writing this, I am having a sip of my liqueur I prepared for Easter - and it is still as good (if not better)!! I got this recipe from a Cooking light magazine.
From Chamber of Commerce Cranberry cookbook, from Westport/Grayland area of Washington coast. Use fresh cranberries, in season. I buy many bags in season and freeze them for up to a year. If using frozen, no need to thaw them first.
This cranberry-flavored jello shot is appropriate for American Thanksgiving or anytime of year. I usually put trays of these out on the table prior to my Thanksgiving potluck with friends. Warning: they are pretty strong. Recipe originally from Saveur magazine November 2004.
Such a pretty square for your Christmas tray. Traditional cranberries in an unbaked square, topped with pretty pink icing, garnished with dried cranberries. This makes a large amount, but go ahead, put the extras on a pretty pink or red plate and give as a gift.
