Refreshing & spicy. Found especially for the recipe swap. I think champagne, wine or juice could be substituted for the Madeira or Sherry. The prep time doesn't include chilling time.

From Nepal, this looks like a fabulous dish for the World Tour. Mustard oil is an extremely hot, pungent oil expressed from mustard seeds and should be stored in the refrigerator and will keep for up to about 6 months. It can be used (sparingly because of the heat) in stir fries, salad dressings and marinades. Stone ground prepared mustard could be used as a substitute.

These taste wonderful with mashed potatoes. (To make mashed potatoes the Belgian way, you also put some nutmeg in with the salt and pepper) I hope you will enjoy these as much as I do. Endives are a little bitter, but cooked they are sometimes a mixture of bitter and sweet.

A lovely Cajun berry and wine compote, redolent with vanilla and the unexpected flavor of bay. The restaurant used mixed berries, but if you have an abundance of one kind, this would be a good way to show them off. This was once on the menu at Artesia Restaurant on the North Shore, New Orleans, although I'm not sure it is anymore. Simple and elegant.

The English influence on Quebec cuisine can be seen in the name of this recipe. "Pouding" comes from the English word pudding, but Quebec poudings are baked rather than steamed and so they resemble cakes more than English puddings. Posted for Zaar World Tour II.

We ate at Bar Americain where I had a perfect rib eye steak & the 7 of us shared every side dish available - YUM! I had their Pear Martini, then I had another, then I asked for the recipe & our server got it for me!!! Here it is...

Found for the World Tour 2005 - yet *another* version of Bread & Butter Pudding!! "Very fattening but lovely, and warming too on a cold winter night." He he. I have not made this *yet* so I guesstimated at some of the proportions (butter, brown sugar & fruit) - please adjust to taste.

Found for the World Tour 2005, this looks like something dh would love! A Mexican recipe, it has been called ' "funeral coffee" because it is always served at the velorios - all-night wakes - with large trays of sweet rolls.'

This is a very simple & satisfying soup with a lot of flavors & textures. I knew I had to enter it into RSC#8 when my usually picky 9yo dd requested the leftovers for breakfast!!! Cook time *does* include coconut prep time for which instructions are included below.

A simple, yummy recipe for the Zaar World Tour. Cauliflower is usually parboiled in order to reduce the smell which many find too strong. If however, the odor doesn't bother you, simply fry the florets in the oil and garlic without parboiling. Cover the pan and cook over a medium heat, gradually adding a few drops of warm water, if necessary.
