I found this recipe in a recent issue of All*You magazine and I am eager to try it out because it sounds yummy. I wanted to try something with artichokes because I don't eat them very often. It doesn't take long to make so it could be served as a weeknight meal. The magazine says that it ends up costing $1.87 per serving so its inexpensive. The article says that you can boost the nutrition by using whole-wheat pasta and by tossing in steamed broccoli florets for a shot of color and vitamins

Maggiano's Rigatoni "D" My spin on Maggiano's BEST pasta dish! Totally heavenly! Also...for anyone doing low carb-substitute low-carb pasta & you've got a meal that makes you swear you're cheating!!! (the sauce is thin-but if you've noticed, it's thin at Maggiano's too! If you like it thicker, just lower the heat and let the sauce reduce some more) Also-if you want to use a rotisserie chicken, you turns out quite well if you are pressed for time.)

This was inspired by another recipe I tried here, but by the time I made changes to make it healthier and to accommodate what was in my fridge, it really was a completely different recipe. It is a cross between the noodle kugel I grew up with, mac & cheese (minus the cheese) and baked creamed spinach.

This is a dish that comes from taking a little and making it go a LONG way. However, for some reason, it isn't just about making it go a long way, it just tastes great! I posted this a very long time ago, but recently, I have had a friend point out that this is basically Pasta Cabonara. We just made it the "old school" way as my mother's family did. They were French Canadian imigrants to NY back in the 50's and this came down as a great way to feed a family of 13. My mother is the oldest of the 11, and everyone in the family has a twist on this. They use ham instead of bacon, or any other meat item in the fridge, including HOT DOGS! Cheeses vary, but the one consistant thing is if you use hot dogs, you add slices of American Cheese. They just go way too well. Many will also add in Jalepeno Peppers, or other veggies. You can throw in darned near anything. But if you sprinkle some Italian spices over the top near the end, and maybe dice in tomato, you get something more like the Italian classic.

This recipe has been in my family for 3 generations now and it is a family favorite!

This delicious pasta dish came off the back of San Giorgio's Penne Rigate pasta box. We love it. Sometimes I add sauteed chicken breast to it for a complete meal.

Rachel Rey recipe. This was impressive, inexpensive, and delicious!

Serve this delicious sauce over your favorite pasta for a quick, delectable meal. Do NOT substitute half-and-half for the heavy cream if you want a thick sauce. Heavy cream contains at least 36% milkfat. Half-and-half, just like the name says, is half milk and half cream and is no more than 18% milkfat. If half-and-half is used, the sauce will only be half as thick as it would if heavy cream were used. Also, if the amount of butter is reduced, that will also make the sauce thinner, as butter is 80% milkfat.

This is the best lasagna ever!! The noodles are so nice and thin and there is NO PREBOILING!! I will never purchase any other lasagna other than Barilla. I've been making this now for 3 years and everyone agrees--the recipe makes the very best! The instructions are right on the back of the lasagna box. I usually make multiple batches and freeze them. Its a great housewarming or "new baby" meal for a friend!

This is from Alton Brown's Good Eats show and it's an easy and good mac n cheese recipe to have on hand. You won't be buying the boxed stuff again after eating this. (edited 8/15/2008 - This was initially posted with 3/4 tsp of dry mustard but after making this a few times I agree with the reviewer that said this amount is too much so I've reduced it to 1/2 tsp.)

Very rich and tasty meal, but also easy because it uses ready-made ingredients. It's not a fussy meal for busy night. My favorite Alfredo sauce has also added mushrooms in it for extra flavor that goes great together with bacon. Time for prep and cooking is quesstimated.

Buttery and lush with garlic, this dish, though simple to prepare, feels indulgent. Adapted from Gourmet. Please note: this is an adopted recipe and I hope to make it soonest. If you make it before I do, I would appreciate feedback, Thanks ! ZWT REGION:Italy.

This is an approximate verision of Carrabba's. This is served in the restaurant as a side dish but would be just fine as a main dish when pancetta is added in. Cavatappi pasta is a short tubed corkscrew or S-shaped pasta. It can be hard to find but I was able to find it called "Twists" by the pasta brand DaVinci (blue bag).

Posted in response to a request; obtained in an online search. Sounds so delicious that I'm going to have to try it SOON! The OLIVE GARDEN menu describes the dish as: Tuscan Garlic Chicken is a flavorful blend of herb-seasoned chicken breasts sautéed with oven-roasted garlic, sweet roasted red peppers and spinach, served in a white wine and garlic cream sauce and tossed with curly fettuccine. (Prep & cooking times are guess-timates!)

    Recipe #126789

A fast and easy take on the dish famously named for Italy's "ladies of the evening" who supposedly quickly made it between clients. You can make this just as quickly as the "girls' " original recipe with nothing more than some everyday items you probably already have in your pantry. Mangia!!

From Biaggi's Italian Restaurant in Salt Lake City, this scrumptious alfredo sauce is meant to go with another recipe I submitted: Biaggi's Farfalle Alfredo.

    Recipe #170440

A chef from Biaggi's Italian Restaurant in Salt Lake City demonstrated his method for making this entree on a cooking segment of the local television news. Biaggi's menu states: Grilled chicken, bowtie pasta, roasted peppers, crispy Italian cured ham, sautéed red onions and peas tossed in our Alfredo sauce with asiago cheese. I can't wait to try this yummy dish!
