This pizza sauce recipe was given to me as a wedding present, written on the inside cover of a pizza cookbook. It is thick, saucy, spicy and delicious. I'll never use anything else on my homemade pizzas. I like to double or triple it and put it in Ziploc bags in my freezer.
This is "hands down" my best breadmaker pizza dough. It has never let me down it always turns out superb. This recipe is for a thick crispy crust that retains that melt-in-your-mouth pizza dough inside. Using your breadmaker makes this recipe very easy and very tasty!
This is so easy to make -- no long rising times and all in one bowl! And, if you don't feel like pizza, try just brushing the dough with olive oil, and topping with olives, parmesan cheese and rosemary to make foccacia bread. I have also topped it with a mixture of oil, finely chopped fresh herbs (parsley, basil, oregano) and garlic paste.
A bread machine makes having homemade pizza as easy as using a storebought pizza! I use this for pizzas and calzones. Prep and cook time do not include time in dough cycle. My dough cycle is 1 hour and 30 minutes long.
This recipe makes a ton of dough if you like a thinner crust like me, it makes 1 large thick crust pizza, it also makes six 6-inch calzones. It is crispy and flavorful, I like to sub some whole wheat flour for real artisan taste!
Sourdough pizza is different. The crust will blow your mind. Don't try it unless you're prepared for addiction. It's best to use a fast-rising culture to produce just the right amount of leavening in quick order. This recipe is from "World Sourdoughs From Antiquity" by Ed Wood.
This is a fabulous recipe I got from my in-laws...DH and I contend that it's the best pizza dough we've ever tasted! We've also had friends agree - everyone who tries it loves it!
*preparation time includes time in machine*
*uncooked dough does not freeze well, but cooked pizza/calzones do!*
Yes, it's a long name for the easiest thin crust pizza dough ever. For a thicker crust let the dough rise for 45 minutes or more. This is extremely quick and the dough is really stretchy and easy to work with. Adapted from the Canadian Living Cookbook.
