This is very close to the way my Mom made Spanish Rice. This dish was taken to every pot-luck we attended, not because it was what she wanted to take but it was what everyone asked her to bring. This is a very simple dish with only as much spice in it as you want. I am posting it as the very basic recipe. You can add to it what you like to suit your palate. I like to serve this with creamy coleslaw.

Great idea for a football party, graduation party, any potluck get-together. I was assigned a hot side dish for a potluck work luncheon, served aside of hot dogs and other party appy's, and decided to try this out in the crockpot and it worked. It went over well; many people went back for seconds and came looking for the leftovers the next day.....it was the only dish that was gone! Very simple indeed, but it's one of those dishes that you hardly lift a finger yet it goes a long way. Would go great aside of hamburger BBQ, sausage sandwiches, bratwurst, hamburgers, etc or make as a main dish. Perfect if you don't have an oven or have limited oven space for your party cooking. I have figured on 16 servings/3 pierogies per person and prep time includes sautee of onion and butter.

The great thing about Texas Hash is that you can adjust the seasonings and other ingredients to suit your taste preferences. So it can gave be as hot or mild as your taste buds will tolerate. We serve this with thick slices of Texas Toast that we lightly toast during the last several minutes that the Texas Hash is baking.

This Sandwich really has nothing to do with fish, except that I used to make this when we would go out fishing - it was easy and could feed a crowd of many - hmmmm loaves and fishes?

    Recipe #269017

I got this recipe from Fannie Flagg's Whistle Stop Cafe Cookbook. I bring it to just about every potluck dinner we go to. The paprika is my own variation.

Since I can't make Spanish rice worth a dern, these cheesy potatoes go well with my Mexican night dishes. And...Cinco de Mayo is just around the corner! OLE!

    Recipe #211379

Growing up in the multi-ethnic steel towns outside Pittsburgh, PA produced some very interesting and deliciously unexpected combinations of foods and cooking techniques. This is what happens when a pantry full of Polish staples collides with the stir-fry technique. I first saw it at a church pot-luck dinner and have made it many times.

This sandwich is great for parties. It is easy and has something for everyone. It can also be made a bit ahead of time so you can get yourself beautiful before the party starts.

My sister's Greek friend baked this casserole for the family when our Mother passed away. I have shared this recipe with friends and have prepared it at church for many bereavement luncheons.

This dish was always showing up at pot luck dinners when I was a kid. I could eat whole bowls of this stuff and never get tired of it.

This is a great recipe that is requested time and time again. It is best when served with Chicken in A Biskit Crackers. Everyone who tires this cheese ball RAVES about it!! The chicken spread is from the makers of Underwood devil ham. Based on Erica's review this is how I create the cheese ball. I grate my cheese on plastic wrap and toss the cheese ball on top and bring up the sides to cover the cheese at the same time molding it into the ball shape.
