I created this recipe when I had a lot of leftovers in my fridge from making the full on baked stromboli. Yet, I was about to go to work and wanted something quick to snack on before leaving. Thus, this recipe was born. :)

    Recipe #248676

Fiddling around in the kitchen, I was looking for a protein rich snack prior to working out. This sandwich was the result and seemed worth posting. If you think it sounds strange consider the delicious and popular appetizer of baked brie in puff pastry and dried fruit. This is a deconstructed and reconstructed version for one. My version used reduced fat ingredients, but you can use the full fat versions if you like.

    Recipe #213885

This is from the June '07 GoodHousekeeping magazine. Simple, healthy, and delicious. I added some alfalfa sprouts to mine and only used half the amount of spinach leaves.

The mayonnaise, believe it or not, makes all the difference in this sandwich. I and my family just have to have one every now and then. Good for a quick breakfast (if not on a diet!)

This is so good and so healthy too!

    Recipe #332790

Came up with this a couple years ago when talking to a parent about "boring sandwich syndrome". Her daughter was tired of the same old meat sandwiches and wanted something fun in her lunch.

    Recipe #338550

Some folks think this tastes a bit like tuna salad. :) Give it a try... it's even better after it's sat overnight in the fridge, so you might make it the night before you want it for lunch and let it sit for a few hours before making your sandwich.

    Recipe #256820

I had this sandwich at a tea room and enjoyed alot to share.

This is a strange combination, but trust me, it is very good! The story goes that Elena Ruz, a society young socialite for which the sandwich is named, would stop at this little all-night restaurant, El Carmelo, in Vedado neighborhood in Havana Cuba, after leaving the dance with her group of friends. She asked the waiter if he could fix her this sandwich after she told them how to make it. After that she would always ask for the Elena Ruz Sandwich and to this day that is how the sandwich is known. This recipe has been printed on many of the Cuban Food web sites. It is great for leftover turkey. Update 03/13/2006 you can also use sweet rolls(the kind you use for a media noche). However, the real McCoy is white bread without crusts and lightly toasted and then the cream cheese would be spread, then the turkey and strawberry jelly on the other slice and voila!

This is an old family favorite. I have added a little heat to it with the pepper flakes. Fried onions are also a nice option to make it a little special. Try it with a little Thousand Island Dressing. Cheddar cheese is fine but Cheez Whiz does the trick!

This sandwich is a little different than the usual grilled cheese but so good. I always serve it with a bit of corn syrup for dipping (ketchup would not work!). Actually, when we were growing up grilled cheese always came with a side of corn syrup for dipping and that still is the way I like it best. I am a cheese lover, extra old cheddar is my favorite but on this sandwich I go back to Velveeta which once again takes me back to my childhood. This sandwich is quite sweet so if you don't like sweet it won't be your cup of tea!

Ham sandwich, but with toasted Jewish rye bread. This yummy toasted bread makes it great!

A twist on regular old ham sandwiches.

    Recipe #329792

I put this together when I was really craving a really tasty sandwich but couldn't spare the fat grams or calories for a big blowout sandwich.

    Recipe #255287

    A yummy change for PB&J

    Recipe #189935

This is a lighter turkey club sandwich which won't have you feeling guilty but tastes really good.
