My dear friend, Barbara Weinrich, presents my family with a beautiful tray of Christmas cookies each year. This is my favorite. I love the exotic taste of cardamom and the browned butter icing. (Scandanavian cooks have made a great contribution to Midwest baking :)

    Recipe #106554

These are so good, and so easy to make, they don't take more than 15 minutes to make in total, these are extremely addictive, you won't be able to stop eating them lol! You can sub whipping cream for the evaporated milk, I have done this a few times, and it seems to work just fine, also you can use 1/2 cup white sugar and 1/2 cup light brown sugar if desired. Just remember to leave the mixture sit in the pot or bowl for about 10 minutes or longer to allow the mixture to firm up. If desired chill the balls firsty and then coat in melted semi-sweet chocolate...YUMMMMMM!

These are so easy to make that the kids can help me prepare them. It is just as easy to make a wide variety of these fancy morsels which allows you to set forth an impressive candy tray. Also makes an excellent gift. I prefer to work in small batches but the recipe can certainly be doubled or tripled.

    Recipe #104941

This recipe came from a children's book that someone at the school that I worked at copied for all the staff. It came with a small story of how an Italian woman in the author's parish would make many of these loaves to give out to the children to celebrate St. Joseph's Day. The bread is very moist and delicious.

My mom decided to try these Snickers-like candy, and our family fell in love with them!!! They are very rich, so cut into small pieces!!! Also, each layer has to be refrigerated before adding the next, so plan ahead. The time is worth it though!!

    Recipe #70192

I copied this recipe off the back of a jar of marshmallow cream. The recipe was for chocolate-walnut fudge. I just change the flavor of the candy chips for different flavors. It is a no fail recipe and always comes out the way you think fudge should.

This is dangerous! I once brought a batch of these to bookclub and it disappeared immediately!

    Recipe #16311

I received these from my Christmas Bake exchange and I just love these little treats! Thanks Suzanne for sharing the recipe with me.

    Recipe #81856

This cookie recipe took first prize in a contest, it has remained a favorite for many years! :)

    Recipe #78769

I received this recipe back when I was in the 7th grade in my homemaking class and I have somehow managed to keep it this long. I guess the recipe is just that good. I make these cookies for Thanksgiving and Christmas and if I even think about skipping one year I get in trouble from my husband and friends!

    Recipe #46689

You will not believe how good these are! If you tell no one what they are, they will completely be devoured while the whole time you hear "What is in these? Cinnamon? Chocolate? Molasses?" Then you tell them exactly what they are and you are guaranteed "Oh my gosh, you're right! That's it! It's root beer!" Then what always comes next is "I need this recipe!!!" So, because I'm sick of handing out the recipe, here it is for everyone. *Root Beer Extract/Concentrate is often hard to find, but you can order it online from Zatarains if you can't find it by all the other extracts in your grocery store.

This is an easy bread using mixes to make it even quicker, and is also very moist. I like to make it for Christmas to have out for guests but it is wonderful anytime.

    Recipe #49092

All I have to say, is that I'm obsessed with this recipe... I've never tasted better fudge! It's so good... although it's VERY sweet and VERY rich! Prep time includes chill time.

    Recipe #43703

This is just one of my comfort foods. I love it slathered on homemade biscuits. MMMMmmmm...so good.

All the flavors of Autumn combined into one scrumptious bread. This tastes great with coffee or tea! I make this using Egg Beaters and unsweetened applesauce in place of half the oil to make it healthier. Prep time includes cooling time.

    Recipe #73469

Topped with gooey caramel and crunchy pecans, this apple bread is a hit with kids and adults alike!

This is the best pumpkin bread I've ever tasted! I got the recipe from the November, 1995 issue of Bon Appetit Magazine. It was submitted by Vern Bertagna of West Frankfort, IL. Enjoy!

Talk about easy! This freezes great! It is one of those recipes that get better after several days, so it is a good one to share with others during the holidays.
