Great brunch or breakfast item; heats up nicely in the microwave. Original recipe calls to bake for only 45 min. Mine is never ready that soon. It always 60-70 min. Maybe this is due to cold ingredients? Variation of a recipe from Quick Cooking Magazine (Taste of Home website)
This recipe was not originally Vegan, but because I prefer this type of baking I tweeked it so it didn't have any eggs or dairy in it. I added a few optional notes so you could see the names of some of the ingredients I used. If you want to view the original recipe you can find it here:
Flavorful, simple, and different from other cauliflower gratin recipes on Zaar. The light custard surrounding the cauliflower is delicious. From the book French Women Don't Get Fat. Prep time includes both cooking the cauliflower on the stove and broiling it.
This is an unusual salad which contains green or brown lentils. For best results lentils should be soaked overnight if possible. It is a great source of protein, and can be served along with other vegetable dishes. I remember reading that the protein intake from pulses is doubled if served at the same time as a yoghurt-based dish, and so I tend to serve a yoghurt salad as a further accompaniment
I found this recipe online from Derrick Riches guide to barbecue and grilling. If you've had Brazilian barbecue beef before, you know how delicious it is. Almost any kind of meat can be used for this recipe. If you wish you can place the pieces on a rotisserie. Serve with Brazilian or white rice. This recipe is yummy and easy!
I was looking through banana bread and cornbread recipes and I was thought "why not combine them to make a really healthy bread?!" My bread came out to 1055 calories only 115 calories per piece. You could probably indulge a little bit since this is so healthy.
I am definitely not an experienced cook, this is the first bread I've made, but this bread came out very moist and delicious. It's so simple to make!
