Hooray! We finally got some rain (after 28 days) and I could see my garden dancing and singing the "thank you, thank you" song of joy. Today I picked my first harvest. They were the cutest little cucumbers. Peeled and tried one...so good and slightly sweet. We're expecting some more rain this week-end. Our 3 varieties of corn, butter beans, okra, pink-eyed purple hull peas, rattlesnake beans, Texas cream peas, red potatoes, bush beans, and tomatoes will be ecstatic. Can't wait...

Lucky you! We had so much rain I was about 3 weeks late getting the garden in but everything is looking great. Do you make picklew with the cukes or are you like me and eat them all fresh?

Yum! Fresh, with a little salt sprinkled on the slices. I like cantelope the same way.
