I know I can do a search for anything pumpkin/apple, but why do that when the wonderful people at zaar's like to share their favorite recipes. I am looking for anything pumpkin... Just today I seen a recipe Pumpkin Whoopy Pies #81646 and I thought WOW I didn't know there was such a thing! icon_eek.gif With the weather changing here and fall rolling in, there isn't anything better than the taste of pumpkin. Wait maybe the taste of baked apple pie, apple crisp, apple anything? icon_lol.gif So could you share your favorite pumpkin/apple/fall recipe? Maybe something different, something that people might not ever had? Thanks Everyone!! icon_smile.gif

This is a recipe that I absolutely love. It's something fun to do with pumpkin.

    Pumpkin Pie Dip

I serve it with gingersnaps and/or slices of granny smith apples.

I have this recipe for Streusel Pumpkin Pie.... It's so much better than your every day, average pumpkin pie. I don't know if it is posted on Zaar yet my another member, but I havent posted yet. So here's the recipe, and I'm gonna try to post it right after this icon_biggrin.gif

    Streusel Pumpkin Pie
    2 c. flour
    1/4 c. finely chopped pecans
    1 t. salt
    2/3 c. plus 1 T. crisco shortening
    4 to 5 T. water
1 can [30 oz.] pumpkin pie mix
1 can [14 oz.] sweetend condensed milk
    1 egg, lightly beaten
    Streusel Topping:
    1/2 c. packed brown sugar
    1/4 c. all-purpose flour
    1/4 c. chopped pecans
    1/2 t. ground cinnamon
3 T. cold butter or margarine
In a bowl, combine flour, pecans and salt; cut in shortening until crumbly. Gradually add water, tossing with a fork until a ball forms. Divide dough in half. Roll out each portion to fit a 9 inch pie plate; place pastry in pie plates. Flute edges and set aside. Combine pie mix, milk and egg; pour into pastry shells. For topping, combine sugar, flour, pecans and cinnamon in a small bowl; cut in butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over filling. Cover edges loosely with foil. Bake at 375 for 40-45 minutes or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack for 2 hours. Refrigerate until serving.
Yield: 2 pies [6-8 servings each]

I am in heaven! There are so many recipes I am adding to my cookbook right now. I hope others will enjoy this thread just as much as I am. Trying to get into the spirit of things changing, getting darker sooner, colder at night, ect. This is helping me get in the "mood" of the changing of seasons. icon_biggrin.gif Thanks Everyone!!

I must post this here. Over in the Q&A there is a topic called Fall Apples: A Guide to Use and Selection Here is the link to that if anyone needs it.
