Last night I made my potato and zucchini curry, and decided to use Rani's chappati recipe instead of my own...and icon_eek.gif They were SOOOOOOO AWESOME!!! I liked them so much that I made more today and took pics of the whole process! icon_wink.gif The reason I did this, is because its often very difficult to learn how to make chappati, so I thought maybe making a step by step "guide" may help, along with her EXCELLENT instructions! icon_biggrin.gif

After the dough has rested for an hour, you divide it into balls, according to how big you want your chappati..

then you roll it out into approximately a 6 inch round.. and brush it with melted butter

Then you fold it in three, like a cylinder, and then fold the sides in to make a "pillow" of dough

Next, you roll it out again into a flat round (mine arent completely round b/c I like them to a look a bit more rustic, so I roll them and then stretch them with my hands)

then put a small amount of melted butter into a heated cast iron pan or fry pan, and add the flatbread (swish it around a little). When it starts to look "translucent" like so

drizzle in some more butter and flip it over.

It will start to puff up when cooking, like so

Then swish it around some more, until little brown specks start to turn up

Just flip once more to brown the other side (Do NOT keep flipping, only flip those 3 times).

The end product should look something like this

    And with my meal icon_biggrin.gif

Hope you enjoyed the "show" icon_lol.gif icon_biggrin.gif

Thanks for the compliments! I really couldnt have made these as well as I did without the help of Rani's instructions!! I've made chappatis sooo many times before that we've enjoyed, but these just went ABOVE AND BEYOND our expectations... they were DELICIOUS, perfect texture, and very easy to work with icon_biggrin.gif
