    Good Morning!
Had a fabulous visit with 3 generations of my in-laws Friday and yesterday. If I could have gotten away with it I would have a three week old girl baby with me today! I totally fell in love!
Selfish parent!!! They want to keep her icon_lol.gif

The weather is conducive to hauling out, trying on and deciding what to keep and what to donate in terms of fall and winter clothes so I will be doing that. Laundry, general clean up and walks with the dogs is just about all that is on my list.

Oh, I may tackle hemming those drapes today. icon_biggrin.gif icon_biggrin.gif

    What are you up to?

Come heck or high water I am going to get rid of the dang calluses on my hands that I obtained by using the walker! They are right on the heels of my palms and catch on everything!! DRIVING ME NUTS!!

A little laundry and watching the hublet install a new "taller" toilet for me. Who knew that after knee surgery 2 inches could make a person this miserable???

Well, all my wonderful plans went out the window when I woke up late to rain storms. Computer is iffy so no catch-up for me.

I guess I will do whatever the house requires me to do as I continue my "de-clutter" program. Since the mister woke up on the wrong side of the bed whatever annoys him as well. One thing is for sure. I won't be making breakfast icon_twisted.gif

Nice on the Baby Girl K9.

Sorry about the knee Cindi-enjoy the new throne icon_wink.gif

K-9, glad to hear you had such a great time with the family! icon_smile.gif

We had a little longer than normal morning walk - these cool mornings, boy, Jar is a hiking fool!

Got a sausage and bean and kale stew simmering on the stove for later on this week.

Picked green beans and YET MORE tomatoes. Sheesh.

Dh's got a couple of slabs of bacon out on the smoker - this time, he's smoking them with corn cobs. We shall see.

Got herbs chopped and in the dehydrator - I love Divina Cucina's Tuscan Herbs - I've been making it since I've had the herb garden, but this year, I'm using my own garlic, too. icon_smile.gif (No, I don't get out much, why do you ask?)

Still gotta grind the meat for meatballs for tonight's dinner, and I need to do some work in the bedroom (not THAT, you guys!).

I'd love to spend some time sitting on my butt, too - just downloaded the next 5 books in a series I've been reading (and listening to). I'd like to get them read before they're due back at the library. icon_confused.gif

Ohhhhhh they didn't warn you??? When I hurt my knee ("hurt" being an understatement) the doc suggested that if I did not have a taller toilet seat I might want to GET one PDQ..... we had a portable attachment that we used after Marty had a broken leg and I started using that. BIG difference!!!

Not much happening here today, but it's going to be hot again.

Two of our dogs, Dottie and Lilly, have parked themselves on a blanket on the floor right next to me (I use my DH's computer, in his study). They love to snooze while I type. In the kitchen they snooze while I cook/bake or do the dishes. In the bedroom they snooze while I make the bed and straighten up. And outside they snooze while I trim the plants or weed. I think I want to change species...being a human is far too much work! icon_lol.gif

I hope cooler weather comes soon. It's usually too hot during the summer months, and often during late spring and early fall, to bake. And I have some promising recipes to try (while the dogs snooze--lol!). yummy.gif

Hope you all have a great day! icon_cool.gif

icon_cool.gif Oops... I got carried away with bathroom comments rotfl.gif and forgot my actual answer! Sooooo I was out of the house at 8:30 this morning. CVS sent me a 25% off coupon only good yesterday and today (off all but ale items etc) and I wanted to get in before it got crowded. I got coffee and my favorite coffee place: COSI, which is next door to CVS...LOL. Then I zipped through Stop&Shop for fresh bagels and cream cheese. Home to make breakfast. I will be going down to our Fairway Market after lunch for some things they have that no one else does and to PetSmart which is across the way from Fairway (I need kitty litter and cat food).

Woke up @ 7:20, had to be to church for 8. icon_eek.gif Made it with a little time to spare. Grocery shopped. Got some good meat deals. Love the "reduced for quick sale" items. Came home, had a small breakfast. Got laundry going, house vacuumed, vacuum packed and froze my meat buys. Supper in the crock pot. My butt is firmly planted on the sofa, feet up, ice on my knee, watching my Green Bay Packers so far putting a womp-a-lompin on the Washington Redskins. GO PACK GO!

OH, I told DH about using coconut oil for dusting, and he is intrigued. I will have to pick him up some. He is my dusting boy. icon_biggrin.gif

Speaking of toilets ... no new ones; but had to replace a seal. So, since I did one; why not do the other too. Also, hand to replace hinges on a cabinet door in the laundry room. TWO trips to Home Depot, thankfully it is close. Got most of my plants done; then, had to go back to Home Depot ... TRIP #3 to get lime. I thought I had some. NOPE. Came home; a few things inside; then went back out. 15 minutes and a crack of lightening WAY TOO close for comfort. Checked radar and time to head in. Torrential rain and wind. So much for yard work the rest of the day.
Ruined my plans - not a happy gal.

Pork is marinating, but needs to be cooked on the grill. Hopefully, the rain will stop. FL rain doesn't last too long.
Did, laundry; couldn't wash my car, it is wet anyways.
    But ...
    the toilets are done.

Just not a very productive day. I did record football; and when home; I had it on, in my porch and lanai. So, I didn't completely miss out.

I think, in for the rest of the afternoon, since everything is SOAKED. Working with wet dirt is just not fun.
    I hate days like this.

Washed sheets and hung them outside even though the sky looked a bit dark. I got away with it though, the sheets are dry, folded and back in the house without a rain drop - phew!

DH put a new bracket on the muffler of my car as it was rattling around. He put the car up on ramps so I was a bit nervous that the darn thing would fall off and squish him. I'm not quite done with DH yet so I can't have him squished. His "to do" list is far too long!

Went to Walmart and wanted to shoot myself since it was mobbed. I swear everyone was in the aisle of cleaning supplies and funny enough three of us were buying "Liquid Plumber". I hate using that stuff but we tried using one of those long brush thingies to clear the clog and it didn't work. I think it just pushed the clog further out of our reach. icon_evil.gif The other annoying thing was I had to buy DH razors and they lock them up in a display case and you have to hunt someone down to open the dang thing. Well for Pete's sake that took me a while to even find an employee and then they had to phone someone and I waited for them to show up with the key. So why are razors so pricey that we need to lock them up? Geez! For my legs, I use the cheapest Bic but Hubby says they rip his face up.

I can't wait for dinner, it smells really good in here. Have a great day everyone.

I had an old friend I hadn't seen in eons drop by last night and we drank until the butt-crack of dawn.

    It hurts to blink.

We both learned a valuable lesson. We can drink like we used to 10 yrs ago we just can't recover like we used to 10 yrs ago.

I ain't doing nothin. Having food delivered and the dogs are just gonna have to have a day off from a long walk.

Yes they did and I did use a commode chair (portable) but therapists want me off of it and to use my muscles to stand. I never thought our "old" toilets were this low - even my sons (that are all over 6 feet) thought they were 16-17" at least. Mine would work for pre-schoolers - 15" was all...that last drop down was all it took!! Not quite what I wanted to use my b-day money for but hey I doooo love it! Added plus - it's a dual flush - low flow or power flow LOL.
