    Good for you and Rob!
I adore your cabin in the woods but life changes and needs with it.
A new community, closer to the action sounds like a wonderful way to spend your retirement!

Keep us abreast of your house hunting when you get to that part. After this last move of mine I get a weird kick with the househunting and packing miseries of others. icon_wink.gif

icon_lol.gif icon_lol.gif icon_lol.gif I love the hunt K9 and as far as the move, we'll be hiring out the entire thing. Oh and I forgot to say, we're selling this house furnished. icon_cool.gif

Great news! I am partial to the gulf side.

I love Sarasota's advice. We have family in Sarasota and they live in a wonderful community. There are tons to choose from.

Thanks Chef, We like the Gulf coast too just not right on the coast. My parents had a place in N. Fort Myers and we loved the lifestyle.

Great news Deely! My Mom is on FL, on the east coast- in Palm Beach County. You'll have a terrific time!

I think so too Saralaya. All of our friends here are 10 to 20 years younger than us. icon_eek.gif I never gave it much thought before but lately I've been thinking it's time for a change. icon_cool.gif

Congrats Deely. I know what you mean being 15 miles from everything. Your move sounds like heaven.

wave.gif Thanks Connie. Yep, I feel like I wasted the entire morning on the 40 mile round trip to Sam's today. I definitely could live without that. icon_wink.gif

I agree with Sarasota. I lived outside Orlando for 20+ years. Since Disney moved in the area exploded and traffic is horrendous. My sister lives on an island down the St Pete area called Tierra Verde. It's absolutely gorgeous and close enough to Tampa to have good hospitals and doctors, etc.

I've been thinking of getting shed of Cripple Creek Ranch too. Way too much house and work for a couple of old farts like us. We have 8 acres and a pool and 1 acre fish pond. If I could find something wheelchair accessible, I think I'd consider it.

Congratulations Deely. As much as I was thinking of trying to go to your get-together the Florida area might just be better for me. Love to see you and Rob again. I have a chance every year to go to Florida but I always seem to have another trip in mind. icon_lol.gif I feel I have to travel when I can.

Now wouldn't that be cool Nora! icon_biggrin.gif I love these communities because everything's right there which makes it great for entertaining. We'll have second bedroom and bath for out of town guests. I'll keep you posted. icon_wink.gif

jneen That would be perfect for you guys...we could be neighbors! icon_cool.gif
The Orlando side is out of the equation. I'll check out that island but I'm afraid it might be out of our price range.
