I lived in Hong Kong for a bit and there was a snack that I used to buy that wasn't in english so I don't know what its called and would love to try and locate it here in New Zealand.

It was what I'm assuming was either Dried Mandarin or Tangerine Peel that came in a silver lined package it was quite sour.

Anyone go any idea what that is called?

    cheers

Welcome to the Asian Forum, Matt.

I'm not sure if we are able to find this out for you but we can try. I know there are literally thousands of foil packs with different fruits in them. Wish you had saved the package label or even a photo of it as this would help to narrow it down for us. Why do you think it was dried mandarin peel or even dried tangerine peel? Quite sour might mean it was dried tamarind pulp or even something else entirely.

Please describe what you ate looked like and the package it came in. Were there any english/chinglish words or saying on the package that you might remember? Anything you can give us would help alot!

    Take care,
    Michael
