Glad I saw this thread. I'm entering a bread competition at the county fair, and need a vibrant starter. Entry deadline is 9pm 8-12-13, so I should get it out and start treating it kindly. Also need to dry some starter. I have some in the freezer, but it's over a year old. Maybe I'll get it out and try it out.

Hi Red, they are working on it but not yet apparently there's an issue with it; didn't know how much I'd miss my secure little spot with all my data securely saved. WAAAAAaaaa!! icon_cry.gif I want my home back. icon_confused.gif

I'm glad. I thought B-n-B was short for bed and breakfast.

I usually store mine in the fridge, but I know of one person who I sent starter to years ago that kept hers in a drawer. She didn't get around to activating it until 5 years later, and it still worked!
I pulled out my dried starter from the freezer a couple of days ago, and it reactivated with the first feeding. It's stored in a plastic bag in a sealed glass jar .I think it's time to dry some more...just in case. icon_lol.gif Here it is after the second feeding in a ramekin...

Hmmm, maybe I need to start storing mine in the freezer instead of just the fridge! It takes longer than that for mine to take off
