Strawberry season's been here for a good fortnight - the heat wave in June ripened the berries good and early this year. icon_smile.gif Time to indulge in a healthy treat!

Strawberries have a strong anti-inflammatory effect, and they kill a wide range of viruses and bacteria. They can also help keep your cardiovascular system in good shape as they contain relatively large amounts of pectin, a dietary fiber that is thought to reduce blood cholesterol. Strawberries are also considered to be a potent anti-cancer food, as they prevent the buildup of dangerous carcinogens in your intestines and have an anti-oxidant effect. Strawberries are a good source of folic acid and, due to their high vitamin C content, assist in the absorption of iron into the body.

But, above all... they are oh so good!

I'm pretty sure a shot of strawberry chilli liqueur thus qualifies as a health drink... right?! icon_wink.gif

That looks good. I find a lot of fruit based liquers too sweet, this looks interesting.

We're not too fond of sweet liqueurs either - the chilli kick really adds a wonderful dimension to it!
