Mia in Germany and alvinakatz, both of you are signed up to do the Rice Farming challenge. Could you both please post here and in the challenge thread, the country that you have chosen? There can be no duplicates with this challenge and I would hate to have you both pick the same country. Thanks!!

Fantastic job on the "Tradition with a Twist of Innovation" challenge, loof!! You put a lot of thought and work in your food stall. I would definitely order some of those wings, they look yummy!! I really loved the part about "jamming to music while you work". Again, great job!! Thanks for doing this challenge!!

We had a nice weekend out at the coast. It was good to have a change of scenery. We bought some property on the canal at Ocean Shores last year, and DD and SIL camped there in their trailer, while us invalids stayed in a hotel. icon_rolleyes.gif But we took our boat out there and played in the water with them and 3 dogs on the one sunny day we had. Check out our DD's goofy-looking new pup:

See what I mean? Goofy-looking!! And such a sweet little dog!

Glad you had a good time, Chef PotPie. It is always nice to get away, although I never seem to be able to do it. I am going on a walking tour of Ireland right after ZWT ends, so I guess that would be "getting away", wouldn't it? Anyway, glad you got back safely. Adorable dog...love the ears icon_biggrin.gif

Hey team, just wanted to stop by and say sorry for being kinda out of the picture the last couple of day. I have been in the process of getting my entries ready for the Maryland State Fair that starts this Friday. I'm submitting 16 canning/preserving entries and I have been busy getting things together. I turn them in tomorrow so I hope to be back to cooking tomorrow evening. Wish me luck! icon_wink.gif icon_wink.gif

Wow that's awesome Jim....good luck to you....what fruits/veggies are you canning? shhh.gif or is it a secret until the reveal? icon_cool.gif

    loof,
No secrets: just apple jelly, grape jelly, basil jelly, cinnamon jelly, apricot jam, blueberry jam, strawberry jam, raspberry jam, pineapple jam, strawberry syrup, apple butter, pumpkin butter, pickled prunes, whole pickled beets, sliced pickled beets, and a collection of jams.

    Sorry, but you asked! icon_wink.gif icon_lol.gif icon_wink.gif icon_lol.gif

Oooh! I want some NOW. Tell us how you fare at the Fair, Jim - good luck. When I was growing up I loved the canning section at the MD State Fair.

icon_arrow.gif Well as we have so many challenges still open and I see the deadline is Monday 08-26 I can take on the Tradition with a Twist of Innovation over the weekend and as I did so bad on the Acadian Exiles have enlisted DH to help me with the Star Trivia

That leaves two openings one in "Rice Farming Challenge" and one in "Tradition with a Twist of Innovation"

Deb, you're a champ!! Thank you so much for taking on these two challenges. For the Star Trivia, I would suggest looking on IMDb and Wikipedia. Especially IMDb icon_wink.gif
