    Rice, potato, fruit and nuts

    I am looking for a recipe that has a layer of potato slices on the bottom, topped with rice with pockets of dried fruit and nuts, and saffron butter poured over top.

    I'm sorry but I have Goggled several combinations of your request and found nothing even close to the dish that you describe.

    You might try the Asian Cooking forum as they include India which might be the recipes origin:

    I just happened to stumble over this question. There's a Persian dish called tahdig which is rice with a crisp crust - the crust can be rice or sliced potatoes or vegetables. Not sure about the fruits, though, but maybe that's another variation. You can add dried fruits anyway, I guess.
