    Good Morning to ALL....

I am using Royal Icing for the first time. Of course, I have never used before and in the process of baking and decorating 'baby shower' cookies. This is not the first time that I have decided to try something new before testing on husband and friends!!! It took a few tries before I had the icing to correct consistency...NOW ... I am wondering how long will the 'flooding' icing take to set up? I have seen different times..and am SO HOPING that is will set up before I pack and leave tomorrow.....

Any suggestion on times...will need to add a few finishing touches....ANY and ALL suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

    Take care to all

It is difficult to say exactly how long your icing will take to harden completely - it depends on the recipe you are using and the humidity on the day you frost them.

I can say that I have never had a icing take longer than 8 to 12 hours at most to completely harden. icon_confused.gif

This is the same recipe I have used for years (Sugar Cookie Icing), and it sets up for me (in the winter) in about 4 hours or so. I've never used it in the summer (when my weather can get humid) because I don't bake in the summer, so I can't estimate hardening time if it is humid icon_wink.gif
