My basil is coming in nicely and I'm looking for tried and true recipes that use this wonderful herb. (I know how to search, just looking for your favorites icon_smile.gif )

Last night we had Basil Cream Chicken that quickly made it into my Permanent Addition Cookbook. I'd love to find other new favorites!

I almost forgot Panzanella! I use one of Lidia Bastianich's recipes, but there are plenty in the database to choose from. It's best when you can get really good fresh tomatoes. Basil-infused lemonade is really good, too, and I used to make a really wonderful pound cake that used basil, but I don't have the recipe any more and it called for dried basil.
Besides the same old tomato dishes, pesto (or just basil) is also great on potatoes, salmon, and in seafood soups.

So far my favorite and newest is basil leaves ON a grilled burger. It was so good, I asked the chef how he prepped. He just threw the basil in a hot saute pan for seconds before laying over hot burger. DIVINE and when you bit in it was a slice of mouthwatering heaven. WHO knew. I use it in my burger recipe as a herb but never thought throw some on top as opposed to lettuce or spinach. Now I am getting hungry.[/b]
