    Nice to meet you Annacia!

Hey! I have the same China pattern. My first MIL disregarded my requests for Stoneware and gave me a place setting for my shower (Circa 1973) then everyone in my husbands family bought me place settings, Tea Pots, serving dishes and condiment dishes for years and years at Christmas and on birthdays. A few pieces got broken in my recent move but for the most part I could open an 'Old Country Roses' store. icon_smile.gif

I am not far behind you doll. I turned 60 this year and it still gives me the willies. icon_lol.gif

That was my mothers china. I never really liked it when I was younger but I too added pieces to her set. I never actually thought about it being mine one day. There is a service for 12 but I never use it, even though I now think it's beautiful. There are no children in the family but the adult males around here don't mix well with anything even slightly delicate. I use Fiesta Ware. icon_wink.gif

You know, I don't mind the age really. I have accepted that aging is far better than the alternative. Wouldn't you say so? icon_lol.gif

Beats heck out of the alternatives!!
I just wanted to stop the aging train at 40. 45 Tops. icon_wink.gif

I haul the china out for Christmas and for showers. It looks pretty then. icon_cool.gif

Hi Annacia! I'm so glad you posted a picture so we can see who this lovely lady is that we are talking too. Guess what....I have Country Roses China too but I just got mine from an elderly lady as she was moving into a retirement home. None of her kids wanted it as they already have their own china patterns (that they never use). Since I never bought any when I got married, I am quite thrilled to have it. My dining room has yellow walls (Benjamin Moore, Concord Yellow, in case anyone cares) and I have burgundy accents in my dining room so it looks great with my stuff.

We did have a lovely lunch yesterday and it was great to see everyone again. Such a nice group of people, we all get along very well.
Wish you were close enough to come too!

I don't know. I think I'm smarter than I was at 40 but then it might just be old age and senility taking over and playing tricks on me. What a concept! icon_eek.gif

    Hi mums

I can imagine your room and setting and I'll bet that some candle light would set any special dinner off to perfection. I miss having a proper dinning room. When we moved to a smaller house all I got was an eat in kitchen.

Living in SK I'm not close to anybody. Nothing in town is more than two blocks away, lol. Here is a photo I took about a month ago. I can't say that I'm crowded.
