Mushrooms have been eaten for centuries but today there is no nicer way of having lunch than delicious mushrooms on toast.
Quick to prepare and so many ways of preparing them - just have a look at these!

    Mushrooms on Toast
    Mushroom Stroganoff on Toast
New Twist for Mushrooms on Toast

One of the best ways I enjoy mushrooms on toast is to chop up the mushrooms, place in a dish and add lots of course black pepper and pop into the microwave for as couple of minutes - mo butter - Nothing else at all and it tastes delicious!

Croutes Aux Champignons (Mushrooms on Toast)
Brandy Creamed Mushrooms on Herby Cheese Toast
    Mixed Mushrooms on Toast
Mixed Wild Mushroom Saute on Toast Points (Rachael Ray)
Mushrooms on French Toast (Ciuperci Pe Friganele)
    Garlicky Mushrooms on Toast

I've never had mushrooms on toast, will need to try it. What I grew up with was mushrooms on mashed potatoes - mother served these quite frequently, and I still make it. I make a mushroom gravy with fresh or fresh and rehydrated mushrooms mixed - using the soaking liquid to make the sauce, a little chicken broth or veggie broth to round it out, sometimes some cream or creme fraiche or something like that, but not always, and then just pour over mashed potatoes. This makes a light supper.

The usual closed cap mushrooms or open cap that you can buy in your local supermarket would be just fine!
