If I want to cook potatoes and carrots with the roast, when should I add them to the slow cooker?

Before putting in the meat. Reading reviews is a great way to find this type of information. The very first review mentions putting in a variety of veggies.

The comments are so much more important than the stars. The reviews give lots of important tips and suggestions of what people like. I am much more included to go by the reviews rather than the ratings.
