WICC, would it be ok to make the wellingtons without the puff pastry. Im off pastry for a while, so I was wondering if I could just make the filling and stuff it into lettuce wraps...?

Thank you so much for the great photo and review! And what a cute bowl!

As far as the wellingtons, it would be great as a lettuce wrap. But I think you would want to cook it first. Obviously the lettuce couldn't handle the oven, but cabbage might... Or you could even do it loaf-like. With the pastry it sort of asks for ketchup. But if you go the cabbage roll route maybe you'd want some type of tangy sauce to pour over it. But if you serve it as a loaf or wrapped in lettuce I would imagine the sauce possibilities are endless. Can't wait to hear how the naked wellies turn out... icon_lol.gif

How did May get here so fast? I've still got one recipe to finish from last month (on the list for today), and then here are my picks for this swap:

For Dr. Jenny I'm going to try Artichoke Hearts in Lemon-Parsley Sauce #299557

And if I may have the honor of choosing lalaloula I'll make Smoked Tofu and Asparagus Toss #478944 and Healthy Chocolate Mousse Spread (Vegan) #478236.

Now off to the market! And guess what? I've found a baker that makes vegan croissants! And for a bit of trivia, they are called croissants ordinaire and are shaped like a crescent. Croissants pur beurre (pure butter) on the other hand have no curve to them. And if I understand correctly, the butter versions are rather new on the scene, but have almost completely replaced the traditional ones in most bakeries.

THANK YOU for choosing me. Im so glad you enjoyed the first of those recipes. icon_smile.gif

How neat, I didnt know that there were vegan croissants in Paris and they actually are the real ones. Ive only ever known the buttery ones. Cant wait to taste-test them! icon_biggrin.gif yummy.gif

    Hi Everyone!
So sorry I am late checking into the game and to find the wonderful surprise that I am VIP! icon_redface.gif Thanks so much, everyone!

I was having some fun in up north Michigan (Traverse City) where my best friend and I were helping out at one of the wineries for a big event they call Sip and Savor. We usually help out for big events and of course the "quality control" of sampling the wine as you work is not too bad a gig! Then, there was a music festival on Sunday in a neighborhood in Ann Arbor ( where a bunch of different local musical artists perform on house porches or backyards and people stroll around for free and watch which shows they'd like to see per a schedule. Very cool.

Now, I'm back and will reporting which of everyone else's recipes I will be making this month! Thanks again, everyone!!!

    Hey there Dr. Jenny! icon_smile.gif

Your trip sounds so fun, especially the music festival! icon_biggrin.gif
