Did any of you try a recipe that was a big or pleasant surprise, in anyway....flavor, texture, combination of ingredients used, method or technique?.

For us it was the bread pudding, never tried it before, but thanks to the wonderful contest recipe, we will be enjoying many bread puddings in the future. icon_lol.gif

I also only submitted one, and made & reviewed one.

Would have loved to have made and reviewed more, but as some of you know, I had a number of family crises at the same time: my darling mother broke her hip, and died 5 days later. Then my DH started having heart rhythm problems, ongoing, ending up less than a week ago with a pacemaker. (Keep in mind: during the day I am Sister Sunshine, and during the night I am Nurse Nightingale! icon_wink.gif )

Things are improving daily -- but all that totally prevented me from doing more recipes. Let's have another creative contest soon! icon_lol.gif

I was only able to sample 7 this time, but have several more I'm dying to try!

I love learning new things and mikekey's Sesame-Ginger Asparagus and Tofu Stir-Fry had a new-to-me technique for firmer tofu. Pressing it for 30 minutes is a super trick I'll use again!

I was impressed by JustLori's Pirates Bounty Bread Pudding. Not only was it delicious, but it included instructions for making candied ginger! I thought that inclusion was an imaginative and put the recipe over the top in my book.
