I have a new computer that runs Windows 8 and Firefox. On my old system (Windows 7 & Firefox), I could use all the links on a recipe page with no problems. Now, when I try to save a recipe to my cookbook or add a private note, the page jumps up to the top and the popup I need doesn't open. I'm guessing I need an add-on or extension but I'm not sure. I have Java Console disabled but Javascript view enabled. Thanks!

I would recommend re installing Adobe Flash Player and Java and restarting your computer. Once completed, see if there is any change as to how to web page is reacting!

Thanks - I did uninstall and reinstall both Flash and Java and restarted my computer. No change. Has this issue been reported by anyone else?

I am wondering if my problem has anything to do with my new lap top having a touchscreen. I've had other glitchy problems (videos from news sites not playing) that I tracked to the touch-enable settings. When I changed those, the videos play but food.com links are still problematic. Any ideas? Anyone else experiencing this? It's exceedingly frustrating finding new recipes and not being able to save them!

This is the first I have heard of this - something similar happened within IE 8, but it was a Compatibility View issue. What version of Firefox are you using?

    I'm running Firefox 20.0.1.

This IS a known and reported issue. There are similar questions posted to the Support forum:

My hunch is that it has to do with the touch settings. I have a touchscreen laptop (Lenovo ideapad). There are known issues with iPads (touch screens). It looks like most of these issues started being reported about 6 weeks ago. I was doing fine on my husband's older computer (not touch) running Windows 7 and Firefox 19 and can still save recipes on that computer. I have not been able to save recipes or private notes on my touchscreen laptop since I got it (about 2 weeks).

Nope and I haven't heard back from anyone at Food.com. icon_sad.gif Food.com is the only recipe site I use but if I can't save recipes, it's of no use to me. Very frustrated!

Mary, have you found out anything about this issue? I replied to your comment last week but haven't heard back from anyone!

This should have been fixed with this morning's release - are you now able to save a recipe?

Thanks for addressing this. I'm happy to know it's being worked on. I just tried with a random recipe. The links for Save This Recipe to: "Cookbook", "Menu", and "Shopping List" don't do anything. Previously, they would just reload the recipe. Now, nothing. It's as if there is no hyperlink there. When I try to Add A Private Note, it does what it was doing before - jumps to the top of the page (reloads the page) but doesn't allow me to add a note.

I'll let you know but I'm beginning to agree w/others that it has to do with the touch screens - hoping it can be saved. Also wondering if maybe I use chrome as a search engine it might help icon_confused.gif

Stay tuned - waiting to hear if the touch screens could indeed be a factor.

Will let you know as soon as I hear something!
