We seem to be cooking a lot of Albania recipes, which is pretty fun considering I knew nothing about Albanian cuisine before. I just made and posted "Albanian Spinach Pie (Byrek Me Spinaq or Pite)" last night and it was a great way to use those farm fresh greens I had in the fridge. I am getting a hankering for coconut, so will probably try out American Samoa next.

It's great isn't it? I don't know about you guys, but when I'm doing my research I'm learning all sorts of new facts, some of these countries I didn't even know exisited before this odyssey.

delicious Vegetarian Albanian Leek Casserole (Tave Me Presh). 500060
Great dish. Thanks so much for sharing. Sorry the photo isn't better.

In case you missed this, I made the above for Albania.

Today I made Boulanee (Afghani Potato Turnovers) #500048. They are sensational.

Fabulous photos, those boulanee are going on my wish list hahaha.

Me too! I've been wanting to cook vegetarian around the world, and this odyssey has jump started my quest! I'm so enjoying learning about the countries and the challenge of finding or substituting to make vegetarian or vegan recipes. icon_biggrin.gif

All my tags have been vegetarian. I've shopped in markets all over the
world and meat is virtually non-existent in many places. And when it is
available, you might get a chunk or two, but not great slabs.

We start travelling again next week, through Brazil and Peru. It will be
interesting to see what's around. I know Peru will have abundant supplies
    of potatoes.

As an aside for Satyne. When you have a moment could you please add
the # in front of the recipe I made for Albania, so the link is 'live'? Thanks.

How exciting, you'll have to share some of your stories and pics.

    Fixed up now, good catch.
