    Copy Cat - Hot Mess - Pecan Lodge's sweet potato - WANTED!

    I have scoured the internet with no luck looking for a copy cat recipe of Pecan Lodge's sweet potato that they call the "Hot Mess" I saw it on Diners Drive Ins and Dives - season 14 - but I can't find the video again to copy the recipe! I really wish that I had have written down the recipe when I saw it on TV but I didn't icon_sad.gif --- please help! Thank-you so much in advance if anyone knows of this recipe!

    That's weird - I watched it yesterday - that's how I found it. This is what I did. Go to foodnetwork.com. Click the recipes tab and then in the search bar, type in Hot Mess. Two results come up, one of which is this one.

    I just clicked the link and the video came up for me just fine - maybe it was something temporary.

    No I went to the site and searched it too, It will let me watch the commercial but not the video. Maybe its because I'm in Canada?? Or maybe it's because I use a Mac?? I'll ask my MIL if she can see it on her
    PC. Thanks for the link!!

    I am going to check again when I go home - maybe all I got was a commercial too. I'll confess to not having watched the whole thing as I was a bit too busy with other things.

    Yes, Duonyte's link is correct. It may be a different version of the Adobe Flash Player installed in your Mac's browser which doesn't let you watch the video. icon_wink.gif

    I just saw the video with the recipe and this is all the info found, so just hope it can help you to figure out the ingredients' quantities. icon_biggrin.gif

    SOUTHERN SPECIALTY DISHES:
    Brisket, BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich, but locals love The "Hot Mess":
    a sweet potato stuffed with barbacoa, cheese, chipotle cream and butter.
    Recipe by Diane Fourton - Boss Lady Owner -

    RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS:
    Cook giant sweet potato sprinkled with water and sea salt in oven for 1-1/2 hours.
    Barbacoa sauce: place in the blender guajillo chiles, onion, apple cider vinegar, smoked paprika, allspice, cumin, black pepper, salt, lime juice, garlic cloves & some chicken stock to blend until smooth.
    Pour sauce all over the brisket and cover with the sauce. Place bay leaves on top and some water in the bottom of a roasting pan. Cover with foil and bake at 350 degrees oven for about 4 hours.
    Out of the oven, shred it and sprinkle with chili power, cumin, salt & allspice.
    Cut sweet potato in the middle and add: butter, shredded cheese and shredded brisket, chipotle cream, crumble bacon and chopped green onions on top.
