I need a nice, simple, yet yummy salad to toss up for a party of 30.

Any suggestions? Dressing on the side Id imagine.. as 30 people arent going to agree.

I bring this by request to all the big family parties.(I`m really tired of it but they keep asking for it.) I just like to make different recipes.
Yummy 7 Layer Salad recipe #51349
I double making it in two aluminum pans. Top with the dressing hours before yes and I do mean hours. This really works. Being it`s topped with cheese and bacon the plastic wrop dosen`t stick to the dressing.
You really won`t be sorry and niether will your guests.
It`s a great make ahead. I have a girlfriend that makes it the night before.

These are salads is usually use again and again when having a party.
    Overnight Buffet Salad
    Threadgill's French Quarter Pasta Salad
    Dunkley's Famous Macaroni Salad
Vortex World Famous Potato Salad #39786
    Big Texan Texas Caviar

Here are some dressing suggestions. I sometimes substitute them on the Overnight Buffet Salad instead of the dressing listed in the recipe.

    Del Rancho Garlic Dressing
    Texas Ranch Dressing

    Good luck with your party.

Colorful Wild Rice Salad is very easy to make and is served cold or room temp. It is easily doubled, tripled or quadrupled, whatever you need.

We like to use several different kinds of lettuce, add small whole cherry tomatoes and grate some purple cabbage and carrots for color then have a bowl of "toppings" served beside the salad. You can use fresh toppings, canned or mixed (my preference).

    Fresh Toppings:
    Mushrooms
    Onions
    Cucumber
    Bell Pepper
    Minced garlic
    Bean Sprouts
and anything else you desire to add

    Canned Toppings:
    Baby corn
    Capers
    Black and Green Olives
Mushrooms (I don't like them canned, but will eat them in this)
    Pimientos
    Pickled onions
    Waterchestnuts
and anything else that comes in a jar or can that you like

    Mixed
Whatever you want from the other two.

    Other possible sides:
    Club Crackers
    Croutons
    Baco's
    Sunflower Seed
    Pumpkin Seed
    Meats if you like.

Then serve the dressing in easy to use bottles (make sure they have the plastic piece in the top so it doesn't pour out too fast).

This really is still simple. Especially if you go with the canned. We drain everything and dump it all together...then if people like that kind of thing, it's there and if they don't they can skip it. The canned version is kind of like marinated vegetables. (Sometimes we just make a gallon of marinated vegetables to use.)

agree about the layered salad idea - they are so easy and can be made in advance.
