1tsp bread machine yeast = how much active dry??

Hi everyone! I'm making pizza dough (w/ my bread machine), and the recipe calls for "1 teaspoon bread machine quick-acting active dry yeast". All I have is regular "active dry yeast." How much should I use to equal 1 tsp of the quick rise kind?
    Thanks in advance.

About 1 3/4 tsp. The standard measure is 1 1/2 tsp instant or bread machine yeast or 2 1/4 tsp of active dry yeast - this is how much one of the envelopes of either type contain.

Bread machine yeast is faster-acting than active dry due to the smaller grain size. Since you are using a slower-acting yeast, I would add it to the liquid ingredients instead of the dry ingredients if your are making the bread right away. It may not matter much, but there is a reason bread machines call for fast-acting yeasts.
