Here is my tribute to National Garlic Day. I used extra garlic in the pizza sauce and added it to the dough. Many years ago, my DH and I took a trip to Gilroy, California. Gilroy is marketed as the garlic capital of the world. As we drove through the area, I could not help but notice the wonderful, earthy smell of garlic and other growing produce. Such a fertile place[/url]

About 10 years ago we all went to the garlic festival in a town in Pennsylvania in the Poconos although I can't remember where lol. We ate everything garlic even ice cream icon_biggrin.gif That experience nearly killed DH, as we found out that garlic is good in moderation but not an exteme amount. LOL! Never went back. Had to totally obstain from cooking with garlic for several years. Finally was able to cook with it again in small amounts.

Ok Acadia, I will bite what is the story behind the lobster?
To me it looks like dinner in the camper after a day in the surf.

Fannie love your tribute to garlic day and I too have been to the Gilroy garlic festival and tried garlic ice cream. Loved the blues and hated the heat.

You are right partly. It was from when we went to Nova Scotia in our RV and we were camping at a campground near Digby on the Bay of Fundy and there was a lobster pound. In the morning we went to the lobster pound and they cooked them for us, and all we had to do is pick them up after sightseeing. They were done perfectly! And we enjoyed them thoroughly! icon_biggrin.gif The funny thing is we didn't have any nutcrackers so DH boiled pliers, screw drivers and tin snips to use to get the meat out! rotfl.gif

Your lobster story sounds like a shared memory. Photos about food and memories could be an idea for a future topic.

Steve, no, not that shot!! But I think we enjoy the chat, too!

We're on holiday in our small house, Stellenbosch, Western Cape, so I am not "active" here right now. There is a neighbour's cat who amuses us no end. It's never hungry, but it talks endlessly and needs attention!

I tried to get this grey-striped kitty to be caught in our kitchen window in a "compromising position", but has not succeeded in getting the shot I wanted.

The cat pokes its head through the kitchen window, so I put some salmon spread there, hoping to catch it with a paw in the spread, but it only sniffed in disgust -- and went on "talking". icon_lol.gif
