Yep. We wore thongs on our feet when I was a kid.

Now, you wear flip flops on your feet and thongs are underwear. When did that happen? icon_confused.gif

Ha, I will never forget the first time I saw a thong (many year ago). One of my nieces was staying over and she had tossed some laundry in with mine. I pulled out this black thing with 2 strings and a small triangle, folded it the best I could and took it upstairs to her where everyone was sitting down to breakfast.
Handed it to her and asked her why she had to wear an eye patch. Not sure which one of us was more embarrassed when I found out what is was.

No worries, Dee. I laughed as hard at the second one as I did at the first.

    GREAT story!

An eye patch! rotfl.gif rotfl.gif rotfl.gif Love it.

    Australians still call a thong a thong (footwear) and a G-string a G-string.
No idea when and how the US changed.
