Fresh from the oven. Sourdough, Italian herb no-knead bread bowls. They are still crackling as they cool!! This evening I'll cut off the tops and dig out the crumb so I can fill them with the chicken noodle soup I made this morning. Mama should feel better after this dinner (she has a cold). No-knead breads have a mind of their own when it comes to how they will "explode." I cross cut the tops, but they still decided to wander where they will.

Now that will chase away both the cold and the blues brought on by the cold.

Joe, that's just wonderful !! Wish I can call you in next time I need pampering!!

DH cannot cook or bake ... The only thing he can make (learnt from his mother's black cook when he was a child) is stywepap -- stiff corn/maize porridge. (It's usually eaten with a tomato-onion sauce, or s kind of sloppy-joe sauce over it).

Absolutely gorgeous Joe. That soup would certainly chase away any cold bug. And those bread bowls look delicious. You have inspired me to make some next week. The ladies I cook for would love those. I'm thinking of black bean chili next week; and these bowls would be perfect.
    Beautiful as ever icon_biggrin.gif

Here is a very good place to start to learn about no-knead bread. Watch the video and you should be good to go. I know the owner of this site, and have purchased two cloches and a bunch of Danish dough hooks for myself and gifts from Eric. His site has grown immensely since 2008 when I started baking no knead breads, and you can spend hours & hours reading and learning. Have fun and let us know when you make your first loaf. When you see how easy it is, you'll wonder why you waited so long to try it.

Here is a link to the YouTube video that started the no knead craze.
