I cannot use the recipe sifter in a members recipe all I get is Get Recipes and nothing works when I click on it be it Course, Main Ingredient etc, the chefs name does not appear either Make some selections to begin narrowing your results. I was getting this when I went through a chefs my page and their recipes but I found it I typed the chefs name in the search bar and their recipes came up I could use the search bar and it was operating o'kay my time yesterday but when I just went to use it now and I tried a few chefs to make sure it would not work, it is now nearly 10.30 am 10th December here. This makes the site so impossible to use. Even cannot sift through all the recipes on site the same problem.

Since posting this it seems to reactivated itself but only to late and I found a recipe on another site and did that instead something that seems to be happening more often than I care to admit to.

Sorry for the inconvenience you experienced, glad it's working now. Let us know if you experience this again.

My question is, How was that fixed? "Glad it's working now" sounds like IT on a hope and a prayer. Indeed I'll bet yer glad. I would be too if an error fixed itself.

It's not fixed for me. I use the current version of Chrome on a Mac.

When I go to I'mPat's recipes, then to the sifter under the red bar at the top, and then try to sift. It doesn't give me any results. It's been like this for months.

Here's a screen shot of what I see.

The six-digit number in the blue bar is I'mPat's member number. I have this issue with any person's recipes I try to search.

Peggy, type the chef's name into the search bar above the red bar - not the sifter. For Pat, you get this, http://www.food.com/recipe-finder/all/i%27mpat

Then use the sifter from that point.

Yes, that approach does work. Thank you.

But silly me, I was clicking on a member's name when I saw it, say for example, in forum threads. How in heaven's name would a person know that the only way to get to a working sifter was by typing the chef's name in the search bar at the top? icon_rolleyes.gif

The sifter should work regardless of how you get to a collection of recipes.

I don't disagree. But the sifter never worked at any time on absolutely every page. I know that the elves agree it should, but I believe that some pages are programmed differently and there are technical issues, based on what's been posted. Just trying to help find ways to get the information you are looking for under the current design limitations.

    Appreciate the help.
Just disheartened by the numerous, ongoing and new problems I find.
