What the heck is it with the POP UP Survey,
every page I go to has it.
It's a Food.com survey and when I do click on it,
the survey has NOTHING @ all to do with the site.
It's so friggin' annoying.
I'm using IE8 and I've cleaned out everything
and it's still happinging.

I believe adblock is now available for IE. I don't use IE except at work, and don''t get popups on FF or Chrome, have this extension for both browsers.

Hi duonyte,
We have pop-up blockers installed so, it's
not our PC. It's this site. But thanks for your
help.

This is truly one of the most insidious forms of "advertising". Voice Five has been paid to conduct this so called "survey", and Food.com is either paid by Voice Five and/or Hershey's to allow the survey on this site. If you Google Voice Five, you will see an "opt out" option. DO IT. Voice Five admits on it's website to adding cookies to your PC. We'll see if the "opt out" option really works. If you have clicked on "take the survey", be sure to clear your cookies to prevent Food.com and Voice Five from tracking you all over the web with every search you make or website you visit.

I just ignore them. Change the page and they go away.
They ARE irritating, though.

It didn't work for me either. However, this problem goes all the way back several years to when Deana Brown, VP at Scripps said the site was being commercialized, yet Food.com denied her comment even after she had made the comment PUBLICALLY to the press. My constantly trying to direct Food.com's to Deana's press statement got me banned from Food.com. However, the promise of Deana proved forthright, and Food.com never admitted it. It was easier for them to stomach with me just being denied access to the website. Next to The Weather Channel, Food.com is now the MOST commercialized site on the web.
Personally, I love Food.com. But, things are piling up. The recent "outage" lasted about two weeks. People and corporations are watching. This is not meant to inflame, but to signal you as to what is really happening. Annoying doesn't begin to describe my experience over the past month. It is no longer about you and me, it's about $$$.

I see it now, it's a regular thread so it's not staying at the top but is several threads down.
