    Lots of recipes posted in the database, just type sourdough starter in the search bar.

    This is the one I'm using now, Wild Yeast Sourdough Starter
    .but I've also used this one. Sunset Sourdough Starter

    Also, ask among your baking friends - perhaps someone uses a starter and would be willing to share.

    You make it out of flour, water, and usually a bit of yeast.

    A sourdough starter is a home-made yeast subsitute. Yeast occurs on grains (and fruit) and can be cultured at home by using one of the methods shown in one of the recipes. It needs to be kept alive, so is far less convenient than using a little yeast envelope, but it provides that wonderful tangy sourdough flavor that no commercial yeast can provide.
