Hi hon! How is your Monday going?
My mom has a spiral bound church cookbook that she has had for years. Some of the pages have yellowed and fallen out but she still uses it and it's her favorite cookbook. I was sent some and havent finished reading them all the way but some really yummy sounding recipes in them.

We are doing an awesome job with this swap! Everyone has checked in and we are current on updates. Thank you for being so nice!!
Has everyone started getting ideas on what to get their partners and starting to look around. I have quite a few ideas for BB502 but forgot to ask her what type of cookbooks she liked.
Will check in with everyone later this afternoon.
Have a fun Monday!!

Hi Lori and swap ladies!
I love community or church cookbooks! I really love any local cookbooks!
Yesterday a neighbor told me she is "cleaning out" her cookbooks and will give me some of them.....my gosh! You would think she's giving me her diamonds!!! I was so excited!!! Do you ladies feel the same about cookbooks?

I know I do! Regional ones are so interesting. The church one all seem to have the same recipes, but are still fun

The other thing I like to look at is recipe boxes on ebay. I have gotten some really great ones. Sad in a way that no family member wants there families recipes. I love to sit and read them and with all the stains you can tell which ones were used alot. LOL.

My 99 year old Grandma died last year and I got her recipe box, so fun to look through, but I have to admit, her writing can be hard to read!

You ladies wont believe what I did!! When cleaning out drawers and things to get the new cabinets and countertop I found my recipe box. I never really cared for it but was on sale so I bought it. Anyway I had my grandma's sweet and sour cabbage recipe in there a few from my other grandma and an aunt that was like a mom to us. Didnt think about what was in the box and THREW IT AWAY!!! I just can not believe I did that!!! I could just kick myself in the rear end. I need to get another one and start all over with my mom's, family, and friends recipes. What is your favorite recipe? I could start out with those! HUGS!!
When looking for cookbooks for my swap partner last time I thought Ebay would have a lot of church or organizations cookbooks but I didnt really find that many.
I love to sit down and open a cookbook to read. DH said I have plenty of cookbooks and I dont use the majority of them because I come here but I have to have them....it's an addiction!
Going to sign off for the night but will see you all tomorrow!
Nitey Nite!

Good afternoon, Lori... and all fellow swappers. Sorry to have been quiet lately... small but heartbreaking family circumstance. I see you all have been chatting up a storm. I have been keeping in contact with Bblondie08 thru PM, and getting to learn what she likes regarding cookbooks.
This does seem like it's going to be great fun. I've already been searching out different avenues to go down as far as what to swap. Sounds like you all have too.
