The Daisy Diaries! I love it!
She looks great Debbie. The worms would have kept her very lean so from here on in it will be clear sailing for Team Daisy. icon_smile.gif

    Keep up the diary icon_wink.gif

Well this week these hard little white things called teeth kept falling out of my mouth and mommy said it was because I am getting to be a big girl, so do I look bigger like I am bigger? icon_redface.gif Wait maybe that is the wrong question, guess I should ask do I look grown up now?

Another part of growing is when it rains daddy greats you at the door which is really nice because he gives each little tootsie a nice message with a warm towel.

But one word of wise to all you young ladies do not touch the laundry basket because no matter how much you say you just want to help no one will believe you.

I am so in love with Daisy!

Cool that you got her teeth. They often just ingest them. icon_eek.gif
I still have one of Chase's baby teeth in my jewelry box. icon_lol.gif

Seriously, she is lovely and I'm so glad she has you two!

Well it has been a while since I spoke with you all. Part of that is because I got put in puppy classes.

I was a little nerves starting class with all the strange smells, people and dogs. Now let me tell you I don’t normally brag but I shocked both instructors that first week by already knowing how to sit and wait both.

Well let me tell you I was glad to see they not only did not expect much but gave treats, I love treats and am not sure what a chow hound is but mommy keeps calling me one.

I am embarrassed to say I scarcely graduated as I was too confident after week one and started slacking and only doing what was asked if there was a treat involved. Also have to admit that somehow I got my sit and down mixed up and now don’t do either very well and mommy is not happy as I could sit on command when we started.

But graduation did come and was a ton of fun with all kinds of games. The only thing I did not like about graduation was the off leash time in the gated park with the other dogs. I checked everyone out and decided they were not my kind of people or dogs and wanted to go in but the door was locked and mommy was talking to the teacher (surly not good for me).

That brings us up to this week which is the SPCA’s yearly doggy dash. Mommy signed us up and invited a friend and her dog to go with us.

Waite why is daddy not going? What do you mean there is going to be a record high of 107F and it is going to be packed with strange dogs and people icon_eek.gif Does this mean all that stuff we have learned over the last six weeks has to be used icon_rolleyes.gif

Oh dear just the thought of it all is upsetting my tummy and just in case you don’t believe how nerves I am let me prove it ugh ugh ugh. Good I only hit mommy’s keys the cup holder and the seat while managing to miss my leash and travel bag icon_wink.gif

    Hey this isn’t so bad!!

There are lots of cool dogs and every were you turn someone is calling you cute and giving you a treat. A girl could get used to this kind of spoiling although the waist line might pay the price in the end. However they had a way to prevent my waist from expanding it was called a 2K walk.

The 2K combined with the extreme heat and my still being a puppy worried mommy who had made me kept me mainly on the grass and in the shade. So she picked me up about 3/4 of the way through and carried me to the finish line. Yay me I finished. icon_biggrin.gif

Well it has been a long morning for me so I will leave you with a photo or two and I am off to take a nap.

P.S. the good looking spaniel is my new friend Brody.

My goodness Daisy but you have been a busy little girl!

Deb she is gorgeous - I could eat her up!!

Puppy classes were a great thing to do with her and a more advanced class (when she gets her memory back) would do her a world of good. There are trainers who like to fade out the treats very quickly but each dog is different and I personally see no harm in treating her every time she gets something right. They can certainly be faded out when she has it all down pat or even better give her treats randomly - again once she knows what she is doing. The 'do it because I ask it' comes with maturity and you want a pup or a young dog to maintain the enthusiasm to learn. JMO of course as is everything I post. icon_wink.gif

I think events like this dog dash are awesome. Keeping her around other dogs will prevent so many problems down the road. Kris with Jarly and Maddie and I can testify to that!

I love the pictures - it's so great to see the two of you looking so happy. I'd love to see more Daisy stories as you go along with her. icon_cool.gif

Back to Daisy - Brody is a very handsome young lad and a breed I'm very partial to. You have good taste for a young girl. icon_lol.gif

    Bummer about the throwing up.

Daisy...what a beautiful and SMART little girl you are.....acing your puppy class.....(well...all except that darn memory issue....maybe some more treats will help!) Your new friend is a very handsome young man, you have excellent taste! The walk is a great thing for so many reasons, not the least of which is the socialization aspect. You two look awesome! Hope you can post more pics and stories soon!

(oh and sorry about that tossing your cookies issue... my Stella girl has been throwing up hairballs recently, but she has been courteous enough (??) to wake me up when she's doing that so I don't walk into the stuff.....)

Thank you Amber, she has a mild temperament but a bit timid with a slight stubborn streak. We thought her shyness was from being a pound dog and the stubborn streak goes with being part terrier.

She likes to cuddle up on my lap most evenings when I am on the computer. Now she is a jumper and one of the techniques we are using to help with that is if she wants pets she has to sit first.

This dog is very inquisitive, loves to play ball and jog to bad I am not a jogger icon_lol.gif of course if I could make myself take it up would help the waistline icon_wink.gif

Because she is so inquisitive and thus finds herself often in trouble we do make her sleep in the kennel which is in our room so she does not feel alone.
