Where does one start? icon_biggrin.gif Will you have a car? One thing for sure you MUST visit The Hof Breu Haus!!
There are some realy good Travel Books available and I would strongly advise that you look into that. Also you can Google Munich-Germany or for that matter any city there and get recomandations on just about everything I hope this will help you. It should be a great time of the year to go. Gute Reise. wave.gif

Well. you have wheels and lodging. Parking in Munich can be a very big problem, but they have great public transportation. How long will you be there? Do you speak German? You will not have any problem in Munich if you don't, but if you get into smaller out of the way areas it will be a little more difficult. As far as restaurants go, there is not a chance, that you will go wrong no matter where you eat. They all have their menues and prices posted out front and many times the specials are posted on a blackboard standing out front. Prices are high and pretty much everything is a la carte. As i said get a tour book and get on the internet. Bavaria and Austria are our most favorite places to go. wave.gif

Better be great b/c we took the cheapest airline, it stops in Iceland before going onto Munich and it's really more than we can afford.. I think my DH thinks he'd better take me before anything else happens (he has to have a thyroid biopsy and our older Siamese is terminal)

Thanks... I'm so excited and already love German deli foods :

i'm also showing ds the difference btwn a career and a job: a career you'll be able to afford nice vacations icon_smile.gif

    Thx

I know you will have a wonderful time. Our daughter had thyroid cancer and her Drs. told her it is the easiest place to have it and cure it. she is fine. Had problems with thyroid supplements, but found "Natural Supplements and she is fine. That was 10 years ago.wave.gif

Do you have results of the biopsies yet? Nothing is worse than waiting until they tell you what they are going to do. I can see why he is worried. I have gone through so many surgeries with my husband and know what it's like. We may have some more coming our way.
All I can say, that they had told our daughter if you are going to have it, it's one of the easier places to cure. Adjustments to medication afterwards might take a bit, but so many more options are now available.
Prayer and trust in God's best plan for us has always been our anchor. I wish the same for you and your husband. wave.gif

    Hi Amber~

Any updates yet, on how your hubby is doing? Hope all is going as well as possible.Sorry to hear about your Siamese kitty, as well. A difficult period for you, am sorry you are going through this.

Hopefully, you and hubby will have a wonderful trip to look forward to, in the fall. Kochin Chef has given you some great tips. It sounds like you will be in Munich around the time of the annual huge Oktoberfest, so that might be another thing for you to experience.

There are some beautiful castles and churches in the area that are not to be missed! Be sure to tour the Nymphenburg, Linderfhof, and Neuschwanstein castles. Two churches I recommend are the Frauenkirche in Munich, and the Wiesskirche is a one day round trip visit all very worthwhile.

There are many beautiful lakes in the southern Germany area so check them out --all have places to spend the night and eat to fit any budget (google for more info).

Thats all I can think of for now. Hope this helps.

Thinking of you and hope things are going better.

Please update us, when you can.

    Hugs, Becky

    Thx for asking icon_smile.gif

He now has to see a cardiologist next wk. . I'm worried.. for two men I love.

How yet another time a medical professional misses a very important comment on a report floors me!

TU re: the lakes.. I had wanted to see the Rhine, but too far away, along w/Ausch in Poland - maybe another time.

We are planning as many castles as possible! icon_smile.gif My DS will HATE all the walking, and I've already warned him to start walking more of those calves are really going to hurt!

    Happy Day, Thanx
    Hugs
