    Hello,
How are prepared and/or packaged items counted? For example, a boxed bread mix or a complete frozen prepared side dish? 1 ingredient each?
    Thank you for the clarification.

Hi there Baby Yaga. I am not one of the "Food.com staff", but I plan to do the same thing your asking. I was just going to list an item as... 1 box ____?___ (prepared, per instructions on box) or 1bag of ____?___ (pre-cooked) or (pre-packaged), etc. But, I would suggest asking on the thread to the contest. The "elves" will probably find your question there and clarify it. I'm curious to know myself if we can get away with that.

    Hope this helps you.

Is this question specific to the Simply Potatoes 5-Ingredient Fix Contest?

    If so:

ALL ingredients needed to prepare the recipe must be included in the ingredient list. So if a bread mix is part of the recipe, and that mix requires 1 egg, 1/4 cup milk, or whatever -- all those ingredients must be listed in the ingredient list are are counted in the 5-ingredient limit.
