What to bring to a Pot Luck featuring Beef Paprikash?

My husband is attending a birthday party on Saturday where the host is preparing beef paprikash. We want to bring something to the party but I'm not sure what to bring. It could be an appetizer or something that would go with the meal. I wouldn't want to bring anything cake-like because I am sure they will have a birthday cake.

The only thing I could come up with was garlic bread and I'm not so sure that's a great idea.

Please give me some ideas. I really appreciate it.
    Thank you,

Hi Marie. That's a tough one. I do like the garlic bread idea. My first thought was hummus and pita chips, but then that's really mixing cuisines. Maybe a spinach dip?

Thanks, Charmie. I drilled my dh a little bit more to find out exactly what type of party it was, what time was the party at, and how many people were expected, etc. Since it is a lunch time party (noon-ish) and small party (expecting maybe 7-10 people) , I decide to abandon the appetizer or side dish idea. I'm going to put together Glitterrazzi Popcorn I've made it before and it is delicious. I found a cute, large Popcorn bowl today that I'll fill up and leave there.

    That'll work!

I think you choose wisely. Pot Lucks are a pet peeve to me, unless people organize. You for instance wanted to bring something that went well with the meal. Others don't always think that way. I think you figured out a good dish that will just be a nice snack, dessert, appetizer, etc that will go with pretty much anything.

thanks, Charmie and SarasotaCook. It worked out well. I asked my hubby what else she served with the Beef Paprikash and he goes 'Stuffing.'.

I'm thinking "Stuffing? With Beef Paprikash?" icon_smile.gif He said "She always makes stuffing. Everyone likes it." Ok, whatever!

He said that the host liked the popcorn. I had told him to leave the bowl there along with any leftover popcorn, of course, but he brought it home. icon_sad.gif

Stuffing ... Interesting ... but I am glad they enjoyed the popcorn.
