    from your childhood home?

Me? about 5 miles. I live in the Chicago 'burbs. I can see the skyline from our city.

I always thought it was SO strange when people never left "home". Now I am one of them. I live in the next city to the east.

Some folks NEVER leave. They get married, have kids and raise their families here. It's the kinda town, really nice. Great schools and neighborhoods.

We've got it all here! We have 2 public pools, a bazillion parks, one high school, 3 middles schools, 6 grade school and several privates schools.
A library, museums, shopping area, restaurants, coffee shops, grocery stores, hospital, train, bus lines.
Running & biking path.... too much to list.

I'll stop now. Tell us about your town!

Edit to fix typo in title. Haw = How icon_rolleyes.gif

I grew up in Halifax, NS (Canada) - I live in Dartmouth, NS (across a bridge from Halifax)

I could walk if I had to (although with my fear of heights the bridge is not my favorive walking area). Probably a 10-15 minute drive.

I'm only about 4 blocks from the house I grew up in. I have lived several other places but eventually ended up back here.

About 3,000 miles. I was born in England and now live in a small town in South Western Ontario - have done so for the past 20 years. After years of living in cities of mega-millions I was thrilled to move to a place with 35000 people that was still very close to an urban center. In 7 years my town has grown to over 100,000 and now we want to move further west (still Ontario) to find a smaller, more rural area.

My family loves Omaha's zoo. It really is one of the USA's finest!

The kids want to go to Australia next year for their winter break. We'll see. Not sure I wanna be in the air that long just for DD to get tan lines. icon_lol.gif
