Yesterday at 8:00AM I was standing on the beach in Fort Meyers Beach, FL, looking out over the Gulf of Mexico, it was already 65* or so, and there were three dolphins playing in the water, just a few yards off shore. The sun was shining and it was an absolutely perfect day. I was wearing flip flops, shorts, and a t-shirt.
I hopped on a plane at 1pm and flew from Fort Meyers and flew home to Philadelphia
This morning, while I was driving into work, I looked down at the temp reading and it was 23* outside, the high today is 34*, it’s cloudy, dreary and we’re supposed to get snow (tomorrow, I think) and at 8:00 AM I was pulling into the parking lot at work to face a mountain of stuff that didn’t get done while I was out of the office
I wish I could turn back the clock, just one more day on the beach would be so nice
I can be grateful I have a job… and that I’m home because I missed my hubby (though I can’t say I’m not thinking of moving to sunny Florida very, very soon)
(anyone hear any more about this Winter Storm coming up the East Coast?)

I'm in upstate NY, they are predicting we will get 12-18 inches of snow tomorrow - maybe more depending on how it tracks. We will get both storms, the one moving east (from the mid west) in the morning, then in the afternoon and overnight we will get hit with the one coming up the coast. As of the noon weather, the snow will start by us at around 6am Friday, and end between 9am and noon on Saturday.
Hopefully we will "get out of Dodge" before the brunt of the storm coming up the coast hits. We have to babysit the grands in Boston (3 hours east) this weekend and are planning to leave Fri morning after DH gets off work (about 10:30am), however we will be driving into the second storm.
Sorry, I have no idea how/when the storm will track through Philly.

We have the snow starting here now. An Alberta Clipper meets up with a Texas low and doesn't play nice. We are expecting 10+ inches in the next 24 hours.
It is such a bummer coming in to the freeze when you have been warm on vacation. Just sucks!

I was on Ft Myers Beach this morning. It is still beautiful and I saw a dolphin swimming very close to shore. Suppose to be 80 or so for several upcoming days.

Well here in Perth, Australia the temperature is to soar to 107 F on the weekend so it's going to be stinking hot here. Not looking forward to it at all.

Chrissy - she is a very pretty girl and I love her dress. You guys with the storms coming - stay warm and safe. We are in Oklahoma for the winter and the weather has been great - in the 60's, although it has been a little colder and rainy the last couple days. Not complaining though as we need the rain.

it's like a little piece of paradise there, isn't it Why Me? – I am so fascinated by dolphins, they’re like “magical” creatures in my mind. I saw at least one dolphin just at the coast line almost every morning when I was in FL
(wondering if this is usual or if it’s seasonal or something)
Last year, we took one of those guided jet ski tours, I was amazed at how close the dolphins come up to people on jet ski’s! one guy swam RIGHT up next to my DD and my Dad on their jet ski… DD said it made her a little nervous at first, but then she saw “him” (?) looking right at her, like he was checking her out as much as she was checking him out… LOL

So this morning I am grateful that I have food in the house to last for days. I'm up to my knees in snow right now and expecting another 8 - 10". The schools must be closed because there are 3 within 2 blocks and not one kidlet or bus in sight. Very, very few cars either.
Both dogs had an early morning walk but their 2nd morning walk has been postponed. I am however dressing to go out in 5 minutes because Madison doesn't care that it's a snow day and is making me nuts with the whining at the door. I think I'll drop her in a snowbank and leave her.

Grab a cup of coffee, a good book and the phone. Crawl back into bed and call in sick. Then hunker down

I had to clear the doggie ramp every hour or so because the snow was falling so fast. My poor little beagle was scraping her belly thru the snow.
This morning, before I shovelled, she couldn't find a place to squat that wasn't hitting her rear end. It was kind of funny but I don't think she was laughing!
